Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Brilliant book. - Great book about a genuine hard man who tells it as it is. A very honest account of his life and puts a lot of other people's books to shame for lies they told. Roy Shaw and Lenny McLean both lied in their books and Lew tells you the truth which is unbelievable. I've read in excess of 20 biographies of British hard men and gangsters and I can tell you that Lew Yates book is the best. Buy it now. Review: Interesting - Good read

LOOKING BACK
This book is very well written for someone who is not a writer but there are far too many names mentioned (and for someone who is terrible at remembering names this is not good ) however this is fine as it is not necessary to remember hardly any of them. Wild Thing is not the sort of book I would normally read in fact it is very far from it but I am very interested in the people that live around me and when I found out that Lew had written book about his life in boxing I had to read it although I did not know him very well then he was very much a loner spending his days in the gym and l would quite often say hello when he was out the back helping a young person train (as we only lived two doors away) but with this not being my subject I enjoyed the book very much well done lew.

Bit drawn out
Wasn't a bad read but was a bit drawn out I thought, worth a read though quite interesting bits about Roy Shaw and Kenny McLean

Awesome
I have read a few books about bouncers and hard men and this is one of the best. Its easy to read and hard to put down. It shows in the writing that this is a genuine no nonsence guy by the way he tells you about every up and down in his life. Every emotion is shown in detail and the love he has for his kids shins through. I give it 10/10

Great
Great book comes across as genuine hard man never asks or needs help always goes for the biggest guy and wins. Caring side to him aswell was obviously a nice man until provoked with all the stuff he went through for his kids and wife cheating on him. Great read not your usual made up s*** by the fake Hardmen out there

excellent read!
Definetly the best of the hard men books in my opinion, an awesome powerhouse of a book and man who has such great morals and love for his friends and family particularly his children but at night under the darkness of a night club doorway lew yates became englands answer to the incredible hulk. Such a likeable yet fearsome man to read about, couldnt put the book down. skip the other obvious choices and just read this its an honest account rather than an ego boost which is what you find with the others, you know which books im talking about . . .
