Ideal for use, but the lock keeps falling off.

I was hesitant as there are quite a few negative reviews. However, I needed a case in a bit of a hurry so took the chance. Item arrived well packaged and on time. The case is black powder coated. The powder coat finish is good quality. The lid didn't align well to the body and needed some force to bend it into alignment. One corner of the lid was slightly bent outward, exposing the sharp corner. Covered the corner with a piece of paper to protect the powder coat and then hammered down the sharp corner. Could do with a bit of hammering all round, to be honest, particularly on the base -- where the feet have been created by stamping the metal, it looks like the surrounding metal has bent out a little. The hanging files that were included are cheap but functional. The lock is basic (in the video in the advert the lock is entirely different) and the case must be locked to carry it. The handle is just a strap; basic but functional. Overall it's OK. However, I happened to be in a high street shop a few days ago and saw a similar (but better) case for the same price (£21.99); that case had a good handle, good lock, and no sharp corners. Wish I'd seen that one earlier as much more like the quality I'd expect for this price.

So to start with this review is by someone who has adhdI chose this as it is pink and looked super pretty. It arrived and it is super pretty. Seems very strong which is what I need as I’ll fall over it a lot as I won’t keep it anywhere sensible.When I saw it on here I was convinced it was a game changer and will go perfectly with my pastel pens to label my tabs. I have a pile of papers ready to go in however I’m now overwhelmed and need to procrastinate and have a nap. I’m going to write it on my endless list which I will forget to look at or look and be overwhelmed necessitating a nap. Will do my best to file my papers and hopefully not use it for putting‘things in’. With luck I will attack it and hyper focus and get the job done.The one drawback for me and I didn’t think of when I ordered us that it doesn’t have a catch as well as a lock. My problem being I will probably lose the keys and have to break it open or picking it up without being locked and files going everywhere. This will result in emotional trauma for me and necessitate a nap with true crime on to drown out any noises.Hope this helps a little time for a nap this review has drained me

This case is well made and sturdy. Ideal for storing bills, statements and receipts

This is easy to use and set up, supplied are some hanging slings with the tabs and paper slips, there is also a key and a spare copy of the key to work the simple lock on the front of the box.The hinges, on mine, are fine and there are not alignment issues and the hinges work without any catching, jamming or sticking closed or open. The side bars from which the slings hang are sturdy and part of the frame as opposed to separate struts soldered or attached in place.There is a rubber/plastic strap band style handle on the top which allows you to lift the box like a case or airline flight bag. The space within is probably fine for containing about 6 - 8 medium to large paper files.I am not sure how flame and heat resistant it would be, the metal is on the thin side, which makes the box/case light but also means that it could easily warp or dent if you accidentally drop it or wedge it or something like that. The lock is not sophisticated, I suspect that it is not unique to this box and keys from other similar products would probably open it. In fact, this would not be difficult to prise open with out a great deal of strength I think, breaking the lock. I would not say that it is waterproof as it has no rubber seals or anything that closes to make it airtight.The lock itself is a simple turning metal hook which moves into and out of a groove, it has opened once or twice when I have lifted it with the grip on the top and hung open, on those occasions the key was in the lock and simply the shake or motion of the box caused it to open. Things to think about if you are planning on using this as a records safe for your car if you are working from home or anything like that. As a home filing system there are the same issues with security but it is a useful single, central place for storing documents where you can find them again.

Easy to store, sturdy and Great value for money

The media could not be loaded. I wrote the review below because the locking mechanism didn't seem to work that well. I found out that you have to remove the key from the lock to get it to latch in properly and stop the lid opening when you lift the box.I originally was using a concertina filing folder to do my filing, but the locking clasp on the front of it had broken , so I was looking for a replacement. I did look at a proper filing cabinet, but seemed like over kill for the amount of documents I wanted to file and also expensive. That's why I chose this product. It looked like it was sturdy and well built.On receiving the product the front panel had been bent inwards at the point where the lock is, by about 7mm, so the locking mechanism in the lid didn't engage with the hole it the top lip of the front panel properly. I popped it back into position so the front panel was flat and straight, as showing in the photographs on the product page. This allowed the locking mechanism to properly engage with the hole in the top lip of the front panel, and actually lock the box.I then proceeded to transfer all my files from the concertina folder to the metal filing box. Great I though, now my files will be all secure and organised and not fall out of the broken concertina folder.After engaging the lock to secure the lid to the box, I then went to lift the box by the handle provide in the lid. The lock gave way and just opened, leaving the box hanging by it hinges.

Bought this to keep all important documents in, in one safe place. Perfect size,sturdy enough for what I need it for. 👍

Great for purpose of organizing important documents my family will need should I face any unexpected illness or “trip to Heaven” . . . Great way to organize! Sturdy and easy to identify!

Bonita caja de metal que además de como archivador sirve también como almacenaje.Vendría bien que las fabricaran un poco más grandes. Bonita para decoración.
