Solved my problem with the PetSafe Patio Slider Doggie Door and bugs getting it at night!
If you put in a PetSafe Dog door for your patio sliders, THIS IS the solution you're looking for! Dog doors for sliders pretty much require you leave the slider's back edge away from the sealing edge of the other stationary pane. The crappy rubber they provide for the seal is not very flexiable, and the adhesive is junk. In my case, what came with the PetSafe insert didn't last a month, and because it was on the back end of the slider seal, the bugs still came into the overlap space and eventually into my home. I'd look up at night, and the ceiling would be covered with bugs. I applied this to the stationary pane edge, and it pretty much works like a squeegee, the silicon is nice a flexible so it was easy to apply and keep in contact with the moving slider pane glass. If you have a PetSafe slider insert, this will go to the outside opposite end of where you applied the cheap rubber strip that came with the PetSafe insert. If you apply this with the silicon edge to firmly against the glass to get a tight seal, be aware that this will make the slider difficult to open because the silicon will act like a friction brake on the glass. Apply it lightly making contact to the glass and pull back just a hair.
