Great Greek stories for a beginner
Really enjoyed these short stories - I am now invested in Kosta and his family. The stories are easy enough to read with just enough challenge. The exercises at the end of each story are very good with the follow up grammar on nouns and verbs. Just what I needed to enrich my Greek learning. I'm now on book 2 and following Kosta's progress through life.

Excellent Comprehensible Input for Modern Greek
There are a lot of beginner readers for Modern Greek out there but most of them are beyond the level of an absolute beginner.I own quite a few graded readers in Modern Greek and I'd say this was the best one for starting out.The stories present enough new vocabulary each chapter without straining the beginner. Each story has a parallel english translation and a presentation of new grammatical concepts with exercises. The book is fantastic and could only be improved with the inclusion of good quality Audio Recordings!

A good little book
I am learning Greek on duolingo but I don't find it a great way to learn. This book is an excellent back up. It seems to cover similar topics to duolingo too, but makes more sense as covers more real life topics. The exercises are good. A handy book if you are learning by yourself.

A great book
I love this book. I've been having Greek lessons and this book has certainly complemented them. It's a convenient size so i carry it in my handbag and read little sections whenever it takes my fancy

Excellent for beginners
Reminiscent of books given to children to help them learn to read. In a good way! But it also includes some useful grammar and vocabulary tables. This is great practise for a learner. It is fairly short though - I guess after this you can move on to some YA fiction.

Perfect for beginners
I love that it makes me feel accomplished when I can build upon each chapter’s vocabulary and grammar. There are fun little questions at the end of each story and also short grammar tables. Nothing too overwhelming for beginners. The hardest part is learning the Greek alphabet! I’ve already order part 2 and I’m kicking myself for not ordering part 3 at the same time.

Good resource for beginning Greek Learners, but...
...the pages of the book were printed backwards. You open the book and see the last page, p. 88! Page 1 is the very last page. I need the book, so I'll use it this way... Wish I could get a copy printed properly, though. No way to get my feedback directly to the author or the publisher, though. Makes me sad.

Same old beginner language textbook stuff.
Do beginner language learner texts need to be quite so dull? Wholesome characters doing wholesome, ordinary things. Even beginner books could have some rogue or even just vaguely interesting characters, and couldn’t they be doing something other than just visiting someone and then going home after their nice visit? Couldn’t Kostas get run over by an out-of-control driver escaping from an armed holdup using simple language?
