I wanted a little pillow that I can lay in bed listening to biology lectures without disturbing the husband. I wasn't sure about this pillow but at such a low price, I decided to give it a try.The cushion is quite firm. If I lay on my side, my face rests on the cushion firmly leaving enough room for my ear to fit in the space where the speaker is without crushing or pressing on the ear. This creates a good seal so sound doesn't leak. The pillow is quite small, great for my small face, might not be great for a big guy's face. The speaker output is very weak. If you're going to lay on your back with the speaker facing the back of your head, you might not hear it well even when you crank up the volume.After trying different positions, I've found that it works best when I lay on my side and put this speaker pillow over my face, with the speaker directly over the ear. If I position the speaker right above the ear, I can hear the lectures comfortably with half the volume or less. If it's off-center even by a little bit, I can't hear it at all which is a great thing in my case. When I fall asleep after sometimes a few minutes of listening to biology lectures in bed, the pillow will fall off my face. I don't have to worry about where the pillow fall since the speaker output is so low, even if the lectures keep on playing, it disturbs nobody.Summary, if you want to listen to something in bed without disturbing a partner even after you fall asleep, this pillow is it.

speaker works well and the pillow is fairly comfortable. i wish there was a bigger pocket for the cord though cuz it falls out often.

I use this pillow at night when I listen to the radio in bed and don't want to disturb my husband. I will be honest and tell you I cover it with a pillow case so I can wash the pillow case and keep the speaker pillow clean.
