Kit Armstrong offers a lively modern take of some splendid pieces by Bird and Bull. His approach is lively, thoughtful and revelatory. This recording is unmatched for sheer delight and enjoyment, the musicianship outstanding.

I haven't stopped listening to this set of pieces by Byrd and Bull since I discovered it. This where stringed keyboard music began and yet it sounds incredibly up to the moment with Armstrong's finely judged playing. Without losing the exotic distance of time. Bravo. Bravo. And lasting thanks for enabling these pieces to live in modern ears and minds.

Forse i più giovani non possono cogliere. Gimondi è stato forse il più grande ciclista italiano dopo Fausto Coppi. Un grandissimo campione. Ma negli anni in cui correva c'era un dannato belga, Eddie Merckx, che vinceva tutto.Questo album di Kit Armstrong è a dir poco fantastico: quando arrivi alla fine del secondo CD ti viene da rimettere il primo dall'inizio.Poi ti viene in mente che un album simile lo ha fatto tanti anni fa un canadese strambo, che si chiamava Glenn Gould, e lo risenti. E l'ottimo Kit Armstrong si trova davanti il suo Eddie Merckx.Ma averne di pianisti così (come Kit Armstrong)! Consideriamoci fortunati.

Magnifiquement interprétée, Kit Armstrong est un génie et un grand artiste.
