Life Changer!!
I read this book multiple times before taking bhrt estrogens (and progesterone). Uzzi and Suzanne Somers gave me the confidence and trust to take the leap. I was very scared of estrogens because of all the bad press but, clearly, bad pharma is the culprit for creating scarey products and not bhrt!I am in peri-menopause and have been suffering fatigue, blues, very low energy, grumpiness, etc. Within hours of starting estrogen therapy I was feeling like myself again! I use Life-Flo BiEstro-Care for estrogen and a prescription sublingual progesterone. This product has made the MOST PROFOUND CHANGE OF MY LIFE! I feel as though the lights were slowly being turned down in my personality since I was in my late thirties... Leaving me less vibrant, grumpy, blue, and lack-luster when I used to be very vibrant, energetic, happy, and full of energy. Taking estrogen was like someone turned the LIGHTS BACK ON!! I really have come to realize that, if you've suffered adrenal exhaustion, going into peri-menopause can be MUCH more difficult as the adrenals become more of a source of sex hormones. Having lived through tremendous stress, my adrenals were very depleted, which I had verified clinically. This being said, I also learned the estrogen is very responsible for supporting good brain chemistry. So, I'm now, after only a month and half of use, experiencing clear thinking, a great attitude, fabulous energy, and resilience that I have not had in over five years! I am ASTONISHED to have my life back from one little bottle!!! I have SO much more hope and enthusiasm. I FEEL FANTASTIC LADIES!!! I now understand why Suzanne Somers is so enthusiastic about HRT!! It's NO JOKE!! It's POWERFUL and AMAZING!! But, be smart about using estrogen! Most people MUST take progesterone with it to balance it. I am in peri-menopause and I take one full pump twice a day every day of the month and I take estrogen days 11-26 of the month. I use sublingual progesterone prescribed by my NP but, I think progesterone cream is just as good. I recommend going to a naturopath who knows hormones. My MD was clueless. The endocrinologist are too indoctrinated in pharmaceuticals. After all my reading, I am only interested in bio-identical hormones. Too many scary things have and are happing in pharmaceuticals in my opinion.. giving estrogens a bad wrap! If you're suffering, educate yourself! There are three estrogens. Learn what they do. Get some professional help but, take ownership of your bhrt. It has made ALL the difference to me and I wish you the same!

Highly recommended!
This book is an absolute must for any woman, at any age, who wishes to look and feel her best. I've read dozens of books on nutrition and hormones, intentionally seeking out books with contradicting opinions in order to make sure I understood the basis for opposing views. Up until this book, the only one I retained for future reference was "Natural Hormone Balance for Women" also by Dr. Uzzi Reiss (and Martin Zucker). Dr. Reiss relies on both his clinical experience and medical research to form his recommendations. It's best to read multiple books for the broadest knowledge, but if you only have the time or budget to pick up one book about bio-identical hormone usage -- this is the one.Like another reviewer, I am also grateful to Suzanne Somers for her books which helped shine the light on the possibilities of bio-identical hormone use. If you don't have a doctor who is either well versed on bio-identical hormones, or willing to expand his or her knowledge on the subject I would strongly encourage you to find a new doctor! Quickly!

Excellent resource!
Fantastic resource that uses plain, comprehensive, yet easy to aborb language on everything you ever wanted or frankly, likely didn't know about your body's delicate functions. Truly a gift of knowledge and power.....DON'T rely on your doctor if he/she is resistive to information......I was seeing a holistic doctor who was is resistive to even testing my hormone levels......Who the hell is he to decide if these tests provide valuable information on my hormone levels? I am the decider, not him. Women need to feel and ACT empowered. I have made some of the changes Dr. Uzzi suggests and had significant improvements.....as well as have found a great new doctor. Ladies, this book is a must read if you want to arm yourself with information to take the best care of yourself. It's the best resource I have found that has it all in one place. And I have done tons of research....no need to make yourself nuts - read the book.

Ranked it #4 out of 45 books on menopause and HRT (i.e., there are some better choices)
I've read and written mini-reviews of most of the popular menopause/HRT books on Amazon. This one I ranked #4 out of #45. To read the others, search for “frail proof” on the product page of other books you may be considering, or do an Internet search for "Frail Proof" to get a link to the full (and free) Buyer's Guide.Summary: Approachable overview of menopause and anti-aging with few glaring flaws. The good:- Strong advocate for HRT, including testosterone.- Appropriately skeptical of old-school docs, oral hormones, synthetics, saliva testing, cyclic protocols, the WHI study, and herbal supplements.- Relatively free of faddish recommendations and fake anecdotes.- Reasonable transdermal protocol.- Usable (if unconventional) list of references and index. The bad:- Emphasizes (E3) estriol, although doesn’t require it.- Doesn’t provide target levels, although does mention optimization is to levels at age 20.- No mention of injections.- Weak on diagnosis and treatment of thyroid.- Some redundancy in discussions of supplement benefits, and too much coverage of the standard “diet and exercise” recommendations.

Very Informative
I really liked the book, it was very informative. It gave detailed information on hormones, symptoms, and options on treatment. If you decided to use topical medication for hormone replacement, make sure your doctors checks your levels. I did some of the hormone replacement options for 1 1/2 years due to menapause, and my doctor never tested my blood to see if it was working. I continued to struggle through all that time. Almost quit my job job and my long term relationship just to lesson my mental and physical stress. I decided to get a second opioion. First thing the new dr. ordered was ablood test; I had no male or female hormones that registered. No wonder I was struggling.
