Star Light Peacock Star Lantern in Red

Love it. So cheerful and bright. Planning to order white and blue for next 4th of July and a green one for Christmas. It's big and I put it on a timer so it lights up my Florida room every evening. Be sure to get the hanging electric cord. It specifies 40 watt bulb, but I use LED bulb that stays cool. It is paper, after all. The craftsmanship and detail are exquisite.

Very pretty when lit, gives a lovely red light to our bedroom. Only thing is that is smells a bit like chemicals.

Where to begin? As others have said, this lantern is mostly black, purple and orange - not red. There were no directions for assembly as advertised, so I had to guess what to do with the glued-together sides and ugly tying string. There's no infrastructure to hold the light in place so it just hangs against the paper sides which seems like a hazard if the bulb gets warm at all. It came with some very ugly white thick string to hold it closed that clearly shows when tied (must be Photoshopped out in the online image). The tissue paper used to cover the holes that light will shine through was very poorly attached, in some places not covering the hole completely, or it had come unglued and was bunched up to one side. The edges of the lantern were poorly glued and glue had leaked onto the outside surface. In short, this item is not worth the price. I'd like to give it zero stars.

This product came on time, but in a very beat up box that looked like someone had stepped on it. I opened the package and take out a very small piece of folded paper. I really didn't know what to expect because I have never bought an item such as this, but it seemed to be very flimsy. When I started to unfold it, it actually ripped along on of the seams. Also, the cut out holes seemed to have been made using some type of hole punch because some of them were not cut out all the way and left pieces of white paper showing. So initially, I was not satisfied and was thinking about returning it. I decided to put it up anyway (it does not come with a cord like similar lanterns sold on Amazon so I had to purchase one) and it is so pretty! The colors are amazing when the light shines through and it makes for a very neat lamp. Like I said before, I have never bought an item like this, but the price seemed low and I can now see that the quality reflects that. It is still a very pretty lamp and is a cheap way to spice up a room.

Pretty much as advertised, bright red with many lighter colored areas that allow for the brilliance of the star to shine once you purchase a power cord and stick a bulb in it. To reiterate, it does not come with a power cord.
