Defenders Mega-Sonic Scatter-Cat, Battery Powered Cat Repellent

I bought this to deter the neighbour's cat, which sits underneath my bedroom window at night and yowls for them to let it in. It works very well. The thing to remember is to use it like a hose-pipe. You need to give a long, constant 'squirt' of ultra-sonic noise, not a quick shot like a gun. The cat doesn not like it! In fact, the mere sight of the gun will make it run away now. Unfortunately, it returns after five minutes and I have to get up again to give it another dose. It gets the message in the end.It is very odd that the instructions say not to use rechargeable bateries, but don't explain why not. I use rechargeables and they work absolutely fine.

This was a total waste of money. Once received, I put in new batteries and hid in wait for the pesky cats. Once one came to take a poo in the garden, I took aim and waiting with baited breath ...... nothing happened, the cat did not even look my way. I changed the setting and tried again - nothing. I tried all the settings and changed the batteries - still nothing. I then resorted to running after it, shouting and waving the gun - that did the trick - although I am not sure how much part the gun actually played !. Save your money and buy a catapult instead !

Great purchase for the garden which is over-run with other people's cats! The only one which seems impervious to it is a rather old tom, which is probably deaf. It is great value for money and my husband loves watching me jump up and run to the door, when he shouts 'Cat!'In combination with the Mega-sonic Cat Repeller I have noticed a big drop in the cat pest problem.

I bought this not for cats but for dogs as I had read in the reviews it worked on them too. I had two dogs barking one behind the house and one at the side - a nightmare.Two settings ultra sonic and sonic. The sonic setting took care of the Alsation within days - amazed. Very happy there, however the Labrador is a different kettle of canine and neither setting worked.It's got three stars as it took care of half my problem. From what I can read it may or may not work for you but at the price it wont break the bank if it is useless and if it stops your troublesome dogs barking you wont be able to put up enough stars.One for the gamblers out there!

This scatter-cat gun does not scatter anything - except your money! The Ultrasonic sound does not work on either cats, dogs, birds or rats and I HAVE tried. The sonic (the hearable) sound is rather annoying so even if it is disturbing to animals, it is more disturbing to neighbours. I have never written a negative review before but this one comes from the heart. Not worth the money!

The Sonic Scatter Cat is great - just what I needed! I use the inaudible or ultra sonic mode. A cat appears, I activate the 'gun' pointingit directly at the cat and the cat can't get away fast enough. Having activated it a few times, the neighbourhood cats are now very wary of coming into the garden. They learn quickly. However, I am still alert to the arrival of any new furry trespassers and a quick blast of the Scatter Cat soon sends them scrambling to escape. Bliss!

From previous reviews my expectations were not high which was just as well. Using the ultrasonic setting the birds and squirrel were completely oblivious of me zapping them. On sonic the first time I used it they ran or flew off. On subsequent occassions the sound wasn't even a reason to raise their heads.I'm not sure what the laser sight is supposed to achieve but to see it on an animal you'd need to be that close to the animal that you could probably kick it and save the battery.

I bought this to deter cats that hunt around my bird feeders .I'm still not sure if this is cruel to cats or not but the three that I have aimed it at definitely heard it , looked in my direction and seemed to shrug and amble off or ignore it or have a wee then wander off !

Questo prodotto a ultrasuoni o usato per mandare via gli scoiattoli che mi mangiavano le nocciole e hà funzionato molto bene,sono scappati e hò salvato le nocciole senza ucciderle .Vorrei sapere fino a quando si scaricano gli ultrasuoni e se succede come devo fare ? 近所の犬が夜21:00以降も鳴き続けるため、対策用に購入した。これを使用すると効果があるようで一定期間鳴かない。30分ほどするとまた鳴き出すのだが、飼い主様は周りの迷惑をどう考えているのかと思います。

Emette anche un altro fischio tipo sirena udibile anche agli umani.L'ho sperimentato solo su un fastidioso cane che abbaia inutilmente tutto il giorno, ma alla fine invece di scappare viene attirato dal suono e mi si avvicina scodinzolando. Più che scacciare ha un effetto di richiamo.Il fischio udibile invece spaventa leggermente il cane, ma ciò non lo fa nè scappare nè smettere di abbaiare
