Great alternative to a floor mount stand...
This is a great alternative to using a traditional umbrella floor stand on a deck with support posts. The two "sleeves" mount to just about any traditional wood deck post (4x4 or larger) with the supplied screws. The brackets then act as a receiver for the umbrella pole to slide in and be adjusted. There is a tightener screw to "lock" the pole into the unit. This has held our umbrella (closed) through some pretty strong wind storms without issue and does great (open) on a normal gentle breeze day as well.

Great Concept, some constraints
I never even knew this existed, and it solved for a big water-filled potable plastic stand that we thought we were going to have to use on our patio. However, due to the size of the umbrella and the placement of our furniture, we were not able to put these holders where we wanted. You will need to think through all the clearances, ability to mount it on flush surfaces, and your ability to use the umbrella crank once installed. As for quality, it definitely looks pretty strong. The bottom weld does seem a bit protruding, and it does show more scratches that I thought it should. Not sure if this is spray-painted or powder coated.Overall, I think we will still try to figure out a way to use it because it’s a good product. It just has some room for improvements.

Solid patio umbrella holder
These umbrella brackets are solid and nicely designed. They installed easily on our deck post with the included drill bit. There is a little magnet in the bit but it didn't help hold the screws. It didn't impede the installation however. The brackets are large enough to accommodate a much bigger umbrella pole than ours has. The features we most appreciate are that the brackets come out of the mounts for storage by unscrewing one screw and that the bottom bracket has a drain hole so it doesn't fill with water. The powder coating on the metal is nicely applied, however the inside of the brackets are not coated. I hope they don't corrode because of this. If they do I will update my review. Please note that the screw that holds the umbrella pole in the bracket is missing from my picture. They fell off the deck during installation and we haven't found them yet. They were included in the package!

Piece of junk
This product is not engineered properly. It come with only a 2 inch sleeve (with no reducer sleeves) therefore if you have a 1.5 inch umbrella pole it wobbles within the sleeve. Over time the wobbling causes the set screw to strip itself so now the only way to hold it solid is to wedge something down into the shaft. I attempted to return it but they said it was past the return date. The reason it was past the return date is because it takes time for the wobbling to weaken and then strip the set screw. Do Not Buy!

Very sturdy mount, great idea
I have a grill area on my back patio that is nestled into a corner made by stairs coming down from the deck. It’s a great use of an awkwardly shaped space, but it’s made it very hard to get shade over the grilling area and it’s in direct sun all afternoon. I’ve looked into the offset umbrellas but they just wouldn’t fit in that space. I’ve been trying to come up with something and when I saw this it was the ah-ha moment.I can bolt this to the 6x6 post of the patio stairs coming down and now I’ve got an umbrella covering my area. I can position it where it provides the most shade in the afternoon based on the sun patterns in our yard. The mount is heavy duty, I don’t expect any longevity issues. Nice powder coat finish. there’s a drain hole in the bottom part so water won’t accumulate.
