I liked the idea that this portable scale doesn't need batteries. I just wish it's accurate. Each time I tried to weigh my luggage it gave me different numbers. It's not reliable!

The media could not be loaded. I’m impressed. I have owned/used several handheld luggage weights over the years, and for the most part they have felt rather insubstantial, especially without batteries inserted to give them some added heft. Being lightweight can be a positive, of course, especially for travel items; but I mean it in the sense that they seemed cheaply made. This digital scale, however, surprised me immediately both by being slightly larger than expected but also by the build quality. The manufacturer put in some care and thought to how this item feels in the hand, and it shows. The more-substantial build also seems important to the design being effective, both because the pull-out ruler that charges the battery needs adequate protection and because the act of pulling and retracting it quickly would be awkward if the body of the main device was cheap, lightweight plastic.As can be seen in the video I’ve uploaded, the design simply works. There was no trial-and-error process or learning curve. One quick pull of the measuring tape activated the LED display and showed the battery icon as partially full. And second quick pull changed the battery icon to show as fully charged, at which point the device was ready to use.I don’t have any significant complaints about this item. My only quibble, for what it’s worth, is I would prefer if the “T” shape was implemented without a bulky extension off the bottom of the device. It would have been nice to have a flush surface—perhaps even if the hangar loop for the weight could be detached when not in use. The absence of insertable batteries here makes the use of a protruding “T” feel like a missed opportunity. Not a big deal, but the shape does make storage of the device less convenient than it probably could be.

The nice thing about this Luggage Scale is that it does not need to be charged or installing batteries for it to work. You just simply pull and release the cord or measuring tape a few times and it should power up the digital display ready for use. Just remember to not pull out the tape too far or over extended risking damaging the tape. It's a small tape made with soft plastic or rubber but durable. The tape itself is about 80 CM long, very easy to pull and self retracts. I tried pulling it 2 - 3 times initially and it was enough for the Digital display to stay on for about 2 minutes or so, which is more than enough to hook up and weight 1 or 2 luggages. There is no backlit light for the LCD screen but still clear enough to see the weigh and measurement unit (kg/lb). The braided strap itself is very strong and tough, will not snap, rip or tear easily. It's about 9" long not including the hook. Speaking of which, the hardware are very strong and thick enough to hold it's own weigh, I am quite sure it can stand up to 110 lb M Max easily. Overall, this is a very versatile mini luggage scale to have and carry when traveling. It's quite accurate as far as scale, well-made with tough and durable materials, strong nicely polished stainless steel hardware. Easy to use too.
