Truefitt & Hill Almond Shaving Cream Jar 6.7 ounces

Being new to the high-end shave cream circuit (and still building experience with DE razors), I opted to go for the gusto. Originally, I tried the Taylor of Old Bond Street (Sandalwood), and it was pretty good. It has a nice sandalwood scent and is a great choice when just beginning. On the other hand, the Truefitt & Hill Almond Shaving Cream scent is amazing! You'll want to sniff it now and then, "just because". (Advice--do not try to use it as a scented oil candle). At first I thought of almonds, but someone else commented it's really a cherry scent...that's it! Ok, somewhere in between, if you wish.When I first tried using this Truefitt & Hill Almond Shaving Cream, I had some issues. Turns out it was my inexperience that resulted in those issues. Anyway, I dipped my brush into it, then mixed with some water. Whoa! It lathered like crazy into this medium thick, puffy foam (think thick bubble bath foam). Little did I realize that I'd used WAY too much water. In fact, a drop or two of water is all you need. Use only after dipping your DRY bristle brush (gently, tips only) into the Truefitt & Hill Almond Shaving Cream jar. Ok, so the first shave was a disappointment. My fault entirely. I was seriously thinking that this was a big, expensive mistake. Here's why--when the lather is foamy, there is little or no slickness to it. Smells great, but the DE blade doesn't slide/glide over your face. Instead, it practically grips...yikes! Right, no fun at all.Lesson learned. Each shave cream will have somewhat different properties. Good to know. On with the review..having learned my lesson, next few shaves, I was able to reduce the water to nearly nill. In fact, my porcelain shave cup only gets rinsed with hot water, then dumped, leaving only a micro-layer of remaining water, clinging to the sides and bottom of the shave cup. That's all that gets mixed with the Truefitt & Hill Almond Shaving cream. With a little effort, the damp residue turns the mini-dab on the bristles into a thick, almond-cherry scented cream that siwrles into the bristles and swells the brush from the inside out. Good for coverage of 2-3 passes with the DE blade (or other blade, if you prefer). The first coverage is the thickest, with the 2nd and beyond slightly thinner. Perhaps it's due to an almost clean shave after the first pass, or added water from application to a wet face.In the end, this was a VERY wise decision. Great shave cream. Should last several months if shaving daily...much longer if shaving less often. Just buy it and forget all others.

It only takes a small amount to make a rich luxurious lather. Scent is on mark as well. Worth the extra cost. It may be the best shaving cream I’ve used and I’ve used a bunch: Col Conk, Taylor of Old Bond, castle, Geo Trumper, LOccitane ( a very close second) to name a few.

This has become my favorite shaving cream to complement a collection of Plisson brushes from bygone years. Very little is needed, and it makes the universal silly habit of shaving about as civilized as it can get. The only downside is that when the bathroom cools down in, say, winter weather, T&H's shaving cream tends to harden and get slightly chunky in lieu of its usual smooth texture. As to aroma, I've tried different scents and don't feel these make enough difference to bother with. Properly scented after shave or cologne is still the way to go to put a twinkle in her eye.

I have used this product for many years and have always thought it was outstanding. Pryor to trying Truefitt & Hill shaving cream I used many different brands of shaving jells, and although they were satisfactory, when I first tried Truefitt & Hill knew it couldn't be any better. It seemed like a closer shave and much more comfortable. It is my first choice of shaving cream and that is why I always order another jar in plenty of time before I run out.

My husband uses this product to shave day in and day out and so do I. I love how my legs feel after I use the shaving cream on them. It doesn't over dry my skin and I don't get razor burn. I love the light scent of the almond. It's not overwhelming!! It's my favorite!!!

I have been using this brand for over seven years and I won't switch to another one again. You only need to get the tiniest amount, less than the amount of a pea, to get great lather with your brush. And you can shave very smooth.

My Husband is so allergic to a lot of products out there so this is one of the few products he can use. I am so thankful there are some things he can use. Thank you!

I bought this for my husbands birthday. He had a little sampler that he got while we were in Sam Francisco a few years ago and loved it. When I initially attempted to order it through Amazon I was told that "product does not ship to your area..." & honestly it's nice to see that it finally does (please increase this happening). Anyways, my husband lives the smell and says it's a very rich lather and moisturizes beautifully!!
