How are they packaged inside? Is there a way to keep from drying out?

They are not individually packages but the berries (balls of seeds) are packed together in this container . Sometimes they stick together , sometimes they don’t .

Why would anyone in their right mind pay $43.32 + $8.24 shipping for a single 3.5 lb tub of nutrieberries?? Just wondering. I pay $24.99!

I order through Amazon Prime and never pay shipping.
