Drizzle Duck, 30" Wind Resistant, Auto Open Umbrella

I have a really nice compact umbrella with a wooden handle that I bought at Nordstrom over 20 years ago. I think I paid $100 for it. I looked at the tag to see who made it because I wanted to get another one just like it. It turned out to be a cheap brand with a nice handle and a huge Nordstrom markup. Oh, and the reason it lasted 20 years? I live in San Diego where it never rains :-(So when I started looking for a new umbrella, I knew I didn't want one of those cheap ones that fall apart so I went to the other extreme and got the one that can withstand 60mph winds because, you know, San Diego. Anyway, this is a fantastic umbrella and I am sure it's the last umbrella I will have to buy even if I use it the 3 whole days a year that it actually rains here. But I digress.The handle is a hard rubber material. The inner hardware (including the ribs) is all plastic but it's the good kind of plastic that looks like it won't break easily. There is a heavy duty spring that activates the auto-open (no auto-close unfortunately). The auto-open button is plastic but looks like brushed metal. It has the drizzle duck logo on it. The pole is covered in some material that makes it LOOK like carbon fiber. But that's OK because who needs a bulletproof umbrella anyway? #amiriteThe wind vents on the umbrella look like they will easily withstand ocean breezes during the cruel California winters.The straight handle (as opposed to a U shaped handle) has a string so I can hang the umbrella on a coat hook. The umbrella is large enough to protect myself and my family from rain without looking freakishly large. I've seen some people carrying golf umbrellas that just look odd because they are so big. This one is just the right size.The only thing I don't like about the umbrella is that the tip (the part that touches the ground when you carry it like a cane when it is not raining) is also plastic. This is one area where I wish they didn't cheap out. I only used my umbrella once and the tip already looks like it's gonna wear out.But other than that, this seems to be a very well made umbrella that should easily last for years to come...even if I actually get to use it.

Good looking but, the glue they use doesn't work at all!!!! The handler unglued right away an the top tip was already unglued... I don't want to pay 40 dollars for an article I have to repair right off the box :(I have to update my review saying that the customer service is simply terrific!!! As soon as I posted the review of the umbrella a company custumer service person named Dominic contact me by e-mail sorry about the bad experience I had with the faulty umbrella and he (or she, I'm not sure) affirmed to me that it was a terrible, uncommon mistake and offerd to send me a doble checked new one so that I wont keep with a poor experience of their company and no cost will be charged to me, even for me living ot of US territory.Have to say it againg, the umbrella looks realy good and the materials feel very good quality. I do like very my umbrella, moreover, by now I do know that the company is totaly custumer satisfaction focus so I definitly encourage to by this amazing umbrella and do it at The Snugg

Updated review: 9/30/2016:I used my Drizzle Duck about 5 times. Today it turned inside out and broke a support connection. The wind proof design failed in misty rain and less than 15 mph wind. I'm very disappointed because I thought I purchased the perfect umbrella good for heavy storms as mentioned in the product description. One of the supports broke off where it connects to the canopy. I bought this umbrella because the description mentioned it's vented canopy design and it will not blow out... Well, it did, just after I was bragging to the guy next to me about how awesome my Drizzle Duck was. "Buy our umbrellas with confidence with our superb customer support!" Let's see how good the support is after my review. Premium product with excellent customer satisfaction... At this point I am not satisfied. Don't waste your money.

After very little use the fastening straps used while storing the umbrella have become loose & flimsy so now they don't hold well at all. I'm planning to have snaps put on it to secure it better . Overall it's large & durable.

I bought one of these and it arrived with a defective seam. The material at the seam was pulled apart to the point where you could see through it. I returned it and reordered a replacement. The replacement just broke today, my third time using it. The plastic end cap cracked and split and it shot off when I opened the umbrella. So, I'll be returning this one as well and I'll be shopping for an alternative. bueno y robusto y gracias a su gran tamaño tapa perfectamente a una o dos personas. Pero como todos los paraguas buenos, ha volado de un paraguero....me lo han robado :(

Parapluie reçu avec un petit problème de couture sur la housse (-1 étoile) et dont le capuchon du sommet était décollé (-1 étoile).Je vous conseille donc de bien vérifier la qualité de l'article au déballage.Article qui semble de très bonne qualité malgré tout. Usage par temps de grand vent non testé.

Ich habe für diesen Regenschirm einen Preis von 29 Euro bezahlt und dafür erhält man wirklich einen stabilen, wertigen, gut verarbeiteten Regenschirm, der sogar noch eine Hülle mit Trageriemen enthält. An Qualität und Funktion gibt es nichts auszusetzen.Natürlich muss man sich schon vorab im Klaren sein, dass ein Regenschirm dieser Grösse nicht nur Vorteile bietet. Ich selber habe noch zusätzlich einen Knirps und sofern beide verfügbar sind, entscheide ich mich für einen von beiden situativ.

My new golf umbrella arrived yesterday, as it's golf season I needed a new umbrella (UK weather has proved to catch me out at the worst of times) my current was looking tatty and didn't have the features of this one. Good old English weather served me well that evening, as soon as I heard the shower on my conservatory I went straight into the garden to test my new golf kit addition. This opens automatically - no more trapped fingertips in the umbrella ribs!! Being a big umbrella I was dry from head to toe, there was a slight breeze and I can tell the vents in the canopy will serve their purpose very well when Autumn comes! The name suggests this has been tested to withstand 'gusts'.....Now onto the canopy itself - I was aware of 'Pongee' fabric and its origins before I purchased this so I already knew that the canopy would be a quality long lasting material, big enough to fit our entire family underneath (cosy!!) last points - the handle feels very comfortable and there is a carry sleeve with handle attached. This feels light for its size when being carried with the handle but I suppose it would be, being a fibreglass shaft! Very pleased with this so far - from experience I know you get what you pay for in this world
