I used to be an avid Polk fan boy…until these subs came into my life…. I have 15 years of building car audio and boat audio and these subs have given me a run for my money. THEY DO NOT HANDLE THAT RMS RATING. Polk needs to go back and run the numbers because I can turn the gain to even half at 1ohm without blowing the fuses and making the coils smell hot. I ran them for nearly 8 hours before turning it up a little only to have taken them in and out a dozen times changing fuses and troubleshooting them. I’m done. I put 350rms to them before the fuses popped again. I have time to return one but I am out of return window for the other so now I’m stuck with it. POLK PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY.

I wasn't able to hook them up, they weren't gonna fit in my car the way I wanted them too, it was a custom install. Tried to return them & wasn't able too. Do now I've got 2 12" subs sitting in my closest & my pockets $160 lighter. & I've tried selling them & nothing. & I've bought a lot of Polk products, you would think they would cut me some slack & let me return them, no dice. Makes me wanna go with a different brand of speakers , which I've started doing. So they won't see anymore money from me. Little things like that ruin the entire companies product for me.

I just installed the subwoofer after having it in the box for 10 months, and it didnt work. Not a good buy, dont waste your money.

I'm still breaking it in, but this sub thumps. It produces tight, clean bass in a sealed enclosure that's 1.5-ish cubic feet. It's also surprisingly compact, considering its diameter and power handling, which is nice (if you're into that sort of thing). Honestly, I've never been let down by Polk Audio. They may not make super high end gear, but their speakers always sound quite good and are consistent in both efficiency and build quality. They're like the hamburger of speakers, nothing fancy, but you know what you're getting and they're always satisfying.

I used this to make a highly weather resistant sonosub outdoor subwoofer as the last element in my outdoor man cave. Was surprised at the output. Used an 18” plastic concrete forming tube lined with carpet underlay padding with a 220watt sub amp. The weatherproof characteristics of the driver lends itself well to this application. I actually had to turn the gain down as it over-powered my satellite speakers. Mission accomplished. The finishing touches to take it from a good to a great system.
