Good quality cocktail onions are a must if you want to make a Gibson. These are subtle and sweet and make a proper drink. The were not stale or in any way past their sell-by date and came quickly to my door. So I am happy. What is a Gibson? It's a Martini with cocktail onions instead of olives or a twist of lemon peal. Think Cary Grant in the dining car in "North by Northwest". He had a Gibson, and so should you. If you want to give it a go, Collins's jar Snow Whites will come in handy.

Pickled onions: one likes or dislikes 'em. OMG these are great! Best in a drink or with a rich beef stew
