I use this with my work, as my personal tool. I work for a company that doesn't like to spend money, but has a lot of fiber connection. I used to work for a data center and know how handy these ae to fix light issues where small dirt particles and interfering with he laser and throwing signals off. It has proven itself that the company is now going to start ordering these for the other network techs .

in the data centers at work, fiber cables don't always get treated as carefully as I would like. And every so often, there's an interface that's taking errors or fails to come up for no discernable reason. Dirty fiber is not uncommonly the root cause, and a fiber cleaner really should be in every network engineer's toolkit. This cleaner is not heavy-duty. It'll do the job, but I would invest in something more professional-grade if this were a regular part of my job. As it is, I mostly sit in an office, but every so often I find myself in a data center, usually to diagnose a problem. In that situation, this is a good tool to have in your arsenal. I tried cleaning a deliberately dirtied set of LC connectors with this, and sure enough, the cable worked flawlessly afterwards. TL,DR: Good for occasional use.
