Its Fan cooling ONLY BUT it does cool water to a few degrees above ambient temp
This Does NOT contain a freon type cooler. Its Fan ONLY BUT it does cool water to a few degrees above Ambient Temp.IE: it was 70 degrees in the shop and I ran a 15+ hr job on 110 V 2.2KW Spindle cutting OAK ( fairly hard wood ) . The RV Antifreeze got to 26 C or 78.8 F degrees. Before adding the cooler I could not get 2.5 hrs before Coolant temp was pushing 38CIt works and works well. Pump is pushing MUCH more coolant than the pond pump that was included with the spindle kit. so far I am very pleased

Works great
I am using this on my 50w Omtech and it works great. I was using a bucket of water with a pump but the water would get too hot. This chiller keeps the water at perfect temp.

This Small Investment Will Save Money
This chiller keeps the spindle on my CNC cool. St its price it was an excellent investment to extend the life of an expensive part. Experts say that by running a chiller, I may never wear out the spindle.

Don't settle for less when looking for a chiller.
Workhorse in my shop. I need a strong chiller to combat the Texas heat and this keeps up just fine. I have 2 of these and they have worked great. Had a small leak in one but a quick tightening of some fittings got that all cleared up. It's a bit loud when it's really working hard but that's to be expected.

Better than expected
This chiller is one of those fake “chillers” that are not actual chillers in the way they don’t have a refrigeration system to be able to cool below ambient temps. I knew this and ordered it for cooling my 50w laser engraver, and it does just that very well, especially compared to the old 5 gallon bucket solution. One thing that surprised me is that after watching tear down reviews of other similar units, their cooling “method” was just a copper coil that the fan blows over, not super efficient by any regards. I’m happy to say that this Omtech unit (cw-3000) uses an actual aluminum radiator, so it should be more efficient than the competition. My only complaints are 2, and one is obvious.1. The display is Celsius only2. The alarm needs a delay function upon startup. The pump obviously takes a second or two to get the water moving through the system and machine so the flow sensor isn’t moving, and thus trips the alarm for a couple seconds on startup… every timeOverall I’m super happy with this chiller, but especially for the price

Great cooling for CNC spindles
My shark 3HP spindle was purchased with the Shark e-cool system. That system proved to be inadequate to maintain spindle cooling after 1 hour of operation. My research led to this unit. WOW this unit is doing a FANTASTIC job of keeping the spindle cool. After 2 1/2 hours of operation, the spindle maintained ambient room temperature. One note, this unit will cool to ambient temperature as no refrigeration is included. It has the aluminum radiator that is more than ample for the 3 HP spindle cooling. The fan moves ample air and coolant flow exceeds what my spindle can handle.(The unit is equipped with 10mm coolant connections that I had to reduce to attach to my 8mm spindle connections). I highly recommend this unit for CNC spindle cooling for those struggling with the inadequate Shark e-cool.

Horribly unintuitive control system. Horrible.
The media could not be loaded. Directions are no help and seem to tell me that I'm in "intelligent control mode", and then there are no directions to get it out of this mode. It does not just hold a constant temp like every other chiller. It's trying to get to room temp? I've set up a lot of chillers where I work, but this is just dumb how this is controlled. I cannot for the life of me figure this out. It is stuck in some weird mode that it won't get out of. Awful control panel. Don't buy.

Keeps my laser cool and working smoothly!
Plug and play. It just works. I am using it with a dual CO2 laser system so the dual in/out capability is very convenient.
