Foi como se eu estivesse entrando em um universo novo, desconhecido e fascinante, e que possui muitos termos e regras diferentes que eu fiquei obcecada em conhecer e compreender.e eu amei o romance entre o casal! realmente o mundo dos romances já está meio saturado de fake dating, mas o enredo criado pela Lana Ferguson foi tão orgânico pra mim que não senti nenhuma estranheza com esse plot. o motivo pros protagonistas fazerem esse acordo foi plausível, a execução foi progressiva e o resultado delicioso! a autora realmente conseguiu dar seu toque especial ao utilizar esse trope e eu amei cada segundo dessa leitura!amei conhecer esses personagens, suas inseguranças e medos, ver eles evoluindo, crescendo e se auto-descobrindo também.ver o Noah cuidando da Mackenzie com tanto zelo e amor e ver ele se abrindo foi tudo de bom e a Mackenzie indo atrás do que ela queria e agarrando o touro pelo cifre foi uma bela surpresa.enfim, não teve nada que não gostei no livro. ele teve mais cenas de sexo do que costumo considerar necessário mas nem liguei, adorei cada uma delas.super recomendo e com certeza lerei outros livros da autora.tropes/conteúdo:- fake dating- romantasia - dual pov- workplace romance- grumpy sunshine- aquela cena que um cuida do outro quando ta doenteAh e sobre a edição da Berkley, a capa é soft touch :)

I love fake dating so I was predisposed to enjoy this one, throw in wolf shifters and grumpy/shine and it was a safe bet that I would enjoy it. This was my first omegaverse book and it was fun. I’ll admit I’ve been super curious about all the things that make a book a part of the omegaverse world and some things I absolutely enjoyed (scenting, marking, mates). Some things I didn’t need but still overall an enjoyable experience. I did wish there had been more with the actual wolf shifting aspect, it was an extremely minor part of the book. I enjoyed our main characters and their bantery dynamic. Noah was a grumpy lost puppy and while I would have liked it if he was a bit more alpha-y in regular life, he was still adorable and had some swoony moments. I loved Mackenzie’s snarky sense of humor and how she loved baiting/teasing stoic Noah. I enjoyed watching both characters grow both as a couple and as individuals. I felt like plot held its own even though the spice was a big part of the storyline. Definitely a good time and I’d even venture that it’s a great book for the omegaverse curious/beginners!

Finished the book in a day! A wolfey modern day rom-com with the perfect balance of a decent plot and great spice. A great swoony escape.

Voilà un bouquin hypé à bloc sur les réseaux, et vu le prix imbattable de l'ebook, j'ai à mon tour succombé au phénomène, en sachant dans quoi je mettais les pieds (merci Rosa !).Le combo romance paranormale + univers médical/hospitalier est rafraîchissant et original, c'est le gros point fort du roman, et je regrette que l'autrice ne l'ait pas exploité autant que je l'aurais souhaité. Au final, on aurait pu avoir la même histoire dans un autre univers professionnel, ça n'aurait pas changé les fondamentaux, puisqu'au final, l'essentiel du roman repose sur la thématique de l'omegaverse, ce qui donne lieu à de (très, trop) nombreuses scènes de sexe, car oui, comme on s'en doute, le fake dating ne va durer qu'un temps ...C'est dommage parce qu'il y avait une très bonne base, mais à mes yeux le smut l'a emporté sur tout le reste, et j'aurais préféré que l'autrice prenne une autre direction ...

I feel like I'm actually living.”I read Bride, which I really loved, and this book was recommended to me from that page. Reading the synopsis, I was sold and immediately bought myself a copy haha. Diving into the book while journeying back home from Italy.The opening really grabbed my attention immediately. I also really loved how the fake dating part really starts from the very first chapters. Both Noah and Mackenzie dive into the thick of it without really knowing each other.The writing is done so well, it is addicting and soooo hard to put this book down! I love the pacing and the scenes are written so good! Definitely a book that could easily be read in one sitting if you have the time. The humour throughout the book had me laughing like an idiot wihle reading about these two idiots in love.Mackenzie is such an amazing character. She is kind-hearted and very bright and present. She is smart and fierce as well. Noah was more of a brooding in the background kinda guy, but once you break through his touch, shy demeanour, he is actually really sweet, loyal and would do anything for those he loves.I love the grumpy x sunshine trope, which was done soooo well! I love how Noah’s walls were slowly crumbling down under Mackenzie’s attention and their chemistry was through the roof! I just kept screaming and smiling whenever they were together. I loved the banter and the development and just everything about the two. Also, they are just so hot together! It wouldn’t have surprised me at all if they were somehow soulmates underneath it all.The plot itself was a bit predictable, but I still very much enjoyed how it played out and how they went about it all. It was written in a way that drew me in and I loved every second of it!Overall, The Fake Mate was such a fun, quick read that I very much enjoyed! I really want more books like this one, it was amazing!
