This is not fit for purpose. There is insufficient room in the back box to adequately accommodate the cable when used as a spur. There is no chance when using as a ring, as it is necessary to include the cable to wire the adjacent plug as this is two separate single sockets. I was unable to fit the socket to the back box with just the spur cable and the cable to wire the adjacent socket. The force necessary to fit the face distorted the back box and there are only two diagonal screws which allows the box to twist, this then will not be weatherproof as a result. The plastic is flimsy and cheap, there are no whether seals and I doubt very much that it would be whether resistant for long, I don't care what it conforms to, the design of this is rubbish. I spent over an hour attempting to close the face plate without success and eventually went to screw fix, paid an extra £2. It took just a couple of minuets to wire and is completely waterproof included rubber seals and a catch closure cover plate that you can even leave an appliance plugged in and it would waterproof the plug also.

I wanted an outdoor plug socket that was simple to instal and wire. The product is well constructed and easy to wire. The flip down covers are well sprung and storm proof. The instructions were a little simple but if your buying the product for a DIY job then you should be competent with electrical wiring for adding a spur or hire a qualified electrician. I am considering adding more outside sockets and would buy again. It offers exceptional value for money, is well designed, weather proof and is fit for the purpose of adding outside plug sockets.

Pretty standard IP54 type enclosures and provided you use the sealing bushes correct should prevent direct water ingress. Spring loaded covers should help to keep the sockets shielded when closed. Screws don't look stainless steel so there could be a potential for rusting making the removal of the screws difficult after a few years of service.

This product is in fact two single sockets mounted in a dual box and each socket requires wiring. There is insufficient interior space to fit 30amp cable and therefore unsuitable for twin 15amp sockets. It is extremely difficult to cable and use.

Yes great outside plug but just to be extra safe sit base on silicon then secure with screws

No star what a load of rubbish as a electrician that's has fitted thousands of sockets this one is bad it's cheaply put together fell apart when fitting especially the waterproof flaps total rubbish would recommend do not buy it you have to wire the second separate plug this is totally a load of rubbish took me about 1 he to fit a disgrace
