His Lordship is not amused
Having recently developed a Houdini habit of getting rid of his collars, including a lovely leather one I’d spent far too much on, I thought cheap and cheerful was the way to go. This collar has not disappointed. This is the second like this I’ve purchased, however, I think the loss of the first was human error (not quite tight enough). The bell is looking a bit worn now but functionally its all good (will be easy enough to swop in a brass bell). The safety catch still releases smoothly a few months in and he’s begrudgingly learnt to accept that going collarless is not really an option. He is microchipped but I’m desperately fond of the wee bastard so I also bought a name/details tag which all works rather nicely.

My cat is still a mass murderer
Got this for my cat to stop him catching animals and so he can be seen at night by cars. The bell works, I can hear him tinkling home when called but he just prowls slower when on the hunt. His kill list last month that I know about includes: 11 rats, 3 mice, 2 crows, 1 starling, 1 baby blue tit, 1 magpie and multiple butterflies and bees. I don't mind him catching rats but am sad about the others.

Terrible, please don't inflict this upon any cat.
Do not waste your money on this collar, and please do not put one on your cat! It's made of awful material, the silver part has sharp edges along both sides that would irritate a cat's skin horribly, and could even cut them. It's a much skinnier collar than the sale photo suggests. The clasp is weak, with a long central prong that's a snap waiting to happen. And worst of all, the bell is an absolute nightmare. Cheap, poor quality, and too large for its purpose. As a result, it makes a constant and extremely irritating high-pitched, scratchy, shivering, jiggling sound, like a robot brushing its metal teeth with a wire brush! Not the usual tinkle of a pet collar bell. It drove me crazy just removing it from the packaging, I would never inflict it upon my cat full time where she couldn't get away from the noise.

I don't like giving bad reviews
I loved this collar at first. The safety clasp worked, the reflectiveness was great, my cat looked incredibly handsome wearing it and he didn't mind the bell even though it was a good loud one. A few weeks later I wanted to take it off to give him a good brush but I couldn't get it off. The clasp was stuck and I tried everything to get it off him before he was able to run off. My sister had to come round and help as I had gone into panic mode. She had to break the clasp with scissors because we couldn't cut through it. I hope mine was just a faulty one but I warn people to be careful and check the safety catch regularly. I still gave this 3 stars because apart from this I loved the collar and, like I said, I hope mine was just faulty.

Our go to cat collar.
I cannot vouch for the comfort of it (odd thing to rate). I asked my cat but he just ignored me and walked off. This is our go to cat collar because of the sturdy build quality and excelent reflective surface. We live on a dark country lane and this collar gives us piece of mind that our black domestic short hair could be seen if a car comes by. The bell rings loud, which my wife finds a little irksome when he is scratching, but I remind her it's this bell that helps prevent him bringing creatures into the house. We of course have to replace the collar every now and again, but that just shows the quick release collar works as it should. Recommended by me.

Replacements add up
After recently purchasing a few feline related products from Ancol I've been nothing but impressed. The quality of their combs and collars seem to be excellent!I'm so glad I purchased these reflective collars over some of the more o̶v̶e̶r̶p̶r̶i̶c̶e̶d̶ expensive ones, they look stunning on my kitties and are indeed quite reflective. The bells on them are great compared to other brands (Beaphar, etc), but do ring at the slightest touch. I can understand why most people take the bells off, especially if their cat lives indoors.Notes: Ancol products are manufactured and distributed in the West Midlands, UK. :-)Update: I kept having to replace the red collar on one of my cats. I don't know if this is a flaw in the design of the collar, like others want to point out, or whether he keeps getting caught up in some bushes and its working perfectly. Either way, the replacements add up when you have to replace them each week. However, I have found that the blue collar on my other cat seems to be holding up well (though since writing this review it too has also fallen off). Regardless, I don't think I'll be purchasing any more -- it seems the best option is not to have any due to various issues being brought up by other reviewers. Also to note, the bell unfortunately doesn't stop said cats catching small mammals and birds.

Collar reacted with liquid flea treatment
Our long haired cat was wearing this collar. We did not see on the back of the packet when purchasing the collar that you should not use with liquid flea treatment. We administered the flea treatment on Saturday - 3 days later we noticed the collar was stuck to his fur and had to cut it off. He now has a large bald patch where his fur has burnt away. Had he got caught in a branch, the collar would not have released and he could have been strangled. I appreciate that it does say in small print on the back of the packet not to be used with liquid flea treatment - but really this should be a clear WARNING! We feel lucky that we noticed and saved him. We also think that his long hair helped - had it been our other short haired cat, he could have been severely burnt. It's the first time we have used this brand of collar and won't use it again.

Good quality , safety collar
These are made to break off if there is a force applied so there is no danger of your cat getting snagged somewhere. The collar material does not pull the cat hair like some brands. The message on the collar is usefull i think if the cat ever gets lost. It is also not full of dangerous chemicals like an anti flea collar. One of my cats originally had a habit of losing these but no longer. Another cat actually wears one that is barely connected because I have a habit of regularly removing the collars via the break catch if they are going to be indoors for a while and i broke part of the catch off but she still does not lose it and appears to like wearing it. I actually add an extra bell with a ID medallion to these
