Andy Williams BGO remaster
I used to have all of Andy’s albums on vinyl before CDs appeared. Sound of this set is excellent and really makes his voice appear surround. Superb set of 4 albums on a double CD. Case was broken but I managed to change out of my stock.

FOUR GREAT ANDY WILLIAMS TO ENJOY
Continuing its welcome reissue of Andy’s Columbia albums, BGO Records devotes the coverage of this double-disc set to include the singer’s 6th, 7th,8th and 9th albums when he was at the height of popularity thanks to his popular US television show which was also broadcast in the UK. The mix of standards and romantic songs of more recent vintage make ideal material for his familiar relaxed ballad style.THE WORLD OF ANDY WILLIAMS, released in 1964, is a unique family affair following their Christmas television Special with Andy in six solo mood tracks including stunning versions of WIVES AND LOVERS, SOFTLY AS I LEAVE YOU and contrasting hectic up-tempo A FOOL NEVER LEARNS. Andy’s brothers join him for CANADIAN SUNSET, DREAM and PENNIES FROM HEAVEN - the latter becoming a fast-paced update as they contribute their close harmony style just like during their early career days. His then-wife Claudine duets for LET IT BE ME and family kids add their voices to SING A RAINBOW with presumably the complete family throwing their vocal weight into the sentimental FIRST BORN.The concept movie collection and Grammy-nominated "CALL ME IRRESPONSIBLE" AND OTHER HIT SONGS FROM THE MOVIES was also a 1964 release and in my opinion is one of the singer's very best with MONA LISA, CHARADE, GIGI and I'LL NEVER STOP LOVING YOU romantically pitched towards a totally satisfying album. Likewise, the same year's THE GREAT SONGS FROM "MY FAIR LADY" AND OTHER BROADWAY HITS does its similar tribute to the musical stage on New York’s Great White Way:- including ON THE STREET WHERE YOU LIVE and five others from the album title show and adding such hits as HELLO DOLLY, PEOPLE and THE SWEETEST SOUNDS from then-current productions plus a few standards like WHERE OR WHEN with a couple of contrasting swinging arrangements to balance the ballads and ensure for variety.Stateside released in 1965 as DEAR HEART, the theme from the same-named film, became ALMOST THERE in the UK on account of the latter single version almost reaching #1. A song from Andy’s first film role in YOU’LL NEVER GET RICH in which he co-starred with Sandra Dee and another popular warbler Robert Goulet, ALMOST THERE was a surprise hit so best promoted the album which rendered a more contemporary feel in the arrangements for RED ROSES FOR A BLUE LADY, I CAN’T STOP LOVING YOU and YOU’RE NOBODY 'TIL SOMEBODY LOVES YOU, the album’s other songs, I’M ALL SMILES, MY CAROUSEL, IT HAD TO BE YOU and DEAR HEART tick all the right boxes as a best-selling Williams collection. All four albums are credited to Robert Mersey as producer and presumably conductor/arranger.As always, BGO Records provides excellent remastered sound and effusive liner notes and original album cover graphics concerning each album in the twenty-page booklet. Standard CD case with slip case adding to the packaging.
