I am lighting an open fire every evening and this bucket is perfect for collecting the ashes. It is light but still sturdy. It has a lid so if I don't want to spread the ashes straight away, the lid means the ash stays confined. It looks neat, and I shall be purchasing a 2nd one soon for other jobs.

Safe way to dispose of ash from our wood burner.

Today, for the first time, I had some hot ashes to remove from the stove I needed to put the ash bucket outside, as the fumes leaked through the ill fitting lid..The handle easily comes away from the hooks. The lid actually pushed the handle out of its hooks.I now have to carry it without the lid on for fear of it coming away again and could cause a spillage or worse!The base is not recessed sufficiently to place on mat without fear of hot ashes carrying on burning with air seeping in from the ill fitting lid. Can’t remove those ashes to the bin till they are cold. Could dowse with cold water but that totally defeats the issue as more mess to clean up. Not a good bucket at all!

it does the job and fine for the money, pretty flimsy construction but does the job, cant see it lasting that long but its OK

Bought this twice, first one was heavily dented. Second one has handle bent the wrong way so that once assembled, the lid cannot be removed!Save your time and spend a few £ more to get one that's made by people who know how a bucket works.
