Jolly nice, good quality, good value analogue flanger
Paid £29.99 12/20. So. In this time when everyone seems to have forgotten why we all loved flangers in the 70s and 80s, I found myself craving a replacement for my first model EHX Polychorus (with Flanger) which I stupidly parted company with many years back. Seeing that this is "all-analog bucket brigade" by a great maker at a good price I took the plunge. Firstly, it is very pleasingly well made. Soundwise it is very good: slightly disappointingly not so gritty-analogue sounding as I remember my old Polychorus to be but very good sounding none the less. The sound is surprisingly cultured and liquid with a dab of phaser creeping in there which could be marmite but there is enough range in the settings and enough usability throught the settings range to produce many usable sounds and to emulate the classic users such as Cult or Police to name but two.Summarising, I am very impressed with the pedal and even more so given the very reasonable price.

Great Flanger for the price
This pedal is incredibly well made, classic flanger sound for "little" money, this pedal will cover your flanger needs without having to touch the hundred in fact this pedal sounds better than some more high-end flangers. Amazing a hidden gem.

Superb. Incredible value for money.
I wanted a warm analog flanger and had read 50+ great reviews of this TC Thunderstorm, so thought I’d take a chance on it. I’m very glad I did. It’s a beautiful sounding flanger & good build quality. No volume loss & nice soft touch footswitch. It went straight on my board. Some folks say it’s quite large & I guess it is, but I actually really dig the look of it. We all love good value and this is incredible value at £40… Why pay more? An absolute gem!

Great quality, sounds awesome through the VOX
Arrived today. Fantastic product. Replaced an older 90's Yamaha flanger. So much better in quality and at such a great price... well chuffed! The build is really good.

It is sturdy and the footswitch is of the silent
I bought this to get a Ronnie Le Tekro type of notched filter sound to my signal. It does this quite well but I just didn't really find any other use for it aside from this and returned it.It is sturdy and the footswitch is of the silent, non-clicky, type. There are lots of Toneprints available but, I just feel that flanging isn't that much of a versatile effect and therefore I returned it and purchased the Corona Chorus instead.

Use the toneprints!
I bought the Vortex on impulse, because I used to love this sound. I discover the Vortex can be a traditional flanger, but it's much more. Apart from the wide spectrum of tones provided by the control knobs, the toneprints give you chorus, tremolo an a wide variety of effects. A great pedal that I'll be keeping.db

The John Mcgeoch sound at a premium price
Couldn't afford the mxr flanger so after watching you tube reviews i chose this and its just as good. it gets the John Mcgeoch sound i wanted for my Siouxie and the Banshees and Magazine projects im perfecting at the moment

Poor effects quality
Very weak effect. No matter where you put this pedal in your effects line up it has very little signal strength, it doesn’t give you the swirling flange sound you’d expect. Not much cop…

Boss BF-2 clone but maybe better
This is TC Electronic/Behringer’s take on the classic Boss BF-2, famously used by Robert Smith of The Cure (“A Forest” being the most notable example). While technically larger than the BF-2, the top jack inputs help reduce pedalboard real estate, and the soft-touch footswitch feels great. The knobs are nice and big, allowing you to adjust them with your feet, and they’re stiff enough that they won’t get accidentally moved.Sounds and operates just like the BF-2; it can do subtler flanging like the Electric Mistress, and can also get the in-your-face jet sound that’s a bit beyond the EM’s capabilities. What’s more, this and other four-knob flangers can also serve as a chorus pedal — just dial the Feedback and Manual knobs down to minimum and adjust rate and depth to taste. That said, if you prefer sweet, subtler flanging, an Electric Mistress/Mooer Elady is going to be your best bet; if you want a flanger that can do a bit of everything from subtle to crazy, this is your ticket. It doesn’t do an amazing job at any one sound, but it does everything very well.I picked this up on sale from Amazon for $39.99 — a fantastic bargain. Realistically, it’s a good bargain up until the price point at which you could get a used BF-2.
