Really handy for multiple devices!
This thumb drive is really versatile, since it can accommodate a variety of phones and computers using different ports. It has a clever design that allows the parts not in use to be securely put away in the metal casing, which protects them from being accidentally damaged or corrupted. It allows you to download photos and other files from your phone or computer and port them to another device, which is especially useful if you don't have access to sharing files via an app such as google docs or google photos. The memory stick feels sleek and ergonomic, and would be a great gift for anyone, no matter what platform they use, since it works for both iPhones and androids.

Not installing spyware to use this thing
Avoid like the plague if you have an iPhone. You have to install some really sketchy software to be able to use this. Works fine on PC and supposedly fine on Android (haven’t tried it yet). Plus, drive will not fit in iPhone if you have a protective case on it. You have to remove the case in order to insert the flash drive .

Absolute Best Buy
You cannot beat this price. I paid more than twice this much for another one I gave to my grandson and this one is much nicer, smaller and faster. These are so handy for transferring and storing files and photos from my ipad and iphone that I don't want in the Cloud. Best of all, there is no app or wifi needed, so it is completely private. I'm really impressed with the download and upload speeds. It has a sturdy metal case, just plug, transfer, play or store. Highly recommend.

Works some of the time
I tried to download files from my iPhone and many of the files would not download. I tried it with a couple other iPhones and same thing. Then I tried my phone with my friends stick and no issues. Not sure what the issue is

Great Flash Drive
I wanted this to a few things on, and it did the trick! I saved photos and Word documents and it was super easy. I love that I can also use for my iPhone; the design is very clever. Being able to download items from your phone, computer, or tablet, and transfer them via this USB is great!

It WORKS!
There are pros and cons to this device which I will list below. Bottom line is that it works. If you have been struggling with getting photos and videos from your iPhone to your Windows device, this is the answer to your problems!I have spent many an hour trying to get all of my iPhones backed up to my Windows computers/USB drives. No matter how many times I tried, it ended in frustration, lost time, and ultimately unfinished or even worse corrupted backups. Although this device could be a bit easier to use and have a better feature set, at the end of the day, it got the job done. No more hours of wanting to launch my phone across the room because I can't back it up as it runs out of space. As all of my photos and videos do not fit on a 64GB stick, my process is to backup photos/videos in batches to this stick and then use my Windows laptop to move the files to a high speed 2TB SSD USB drive. Not exactly a plug and play option to get all files onto my drive, but I have not been able to find a better solution with what is available on the existing market.Pros:- IT WORKS!- It is pretty quick in downloading and uploading files.- It is sturdy and sleek. Had nice aesthetics.- IT WORKS!- Have not had any corruption of files/videos in the transfer process.- It converts the files from HEIC to JPEG, which is convenient.- IT WORKS!Cons:- Most phones hold a lot more than 64 GB, I would prefer a larger capacity.- You cannot connect your charger while using this device. Even though the device is fast, if you have a lot of files to copy, the phone might run out of battery before backup is completed. I kept my screen dim, and enhanced my power settings to ensure longest run time. I also learned to copy over smaller batches.- Y-Disk software is not feature full and needs improvementsO - Y-Disk is great at what it does. The features available work flawlessly, which is great compared to other alternatives.O - When selecting photos/videos, you cannot select by date or drag your finger to select. You also cannot select the first and then ask to choose all up to a last. No, you have to click on each photo/video one at a time to select. It does have an option to backup all files, but that is problematic with larger capacities (see my comments above).O - When it completes the file transfer, it de-selects the photos/videos you chose to backup. In my case, I would like to confirm the files are on the stick and then delete the files off my phone. If the selection remained, I would be able to just hit the delete key. Instead I have to re-select them all to delete.O - The software does not have an option to move the files, only copy. Which means you have to copy and then delete. It's a nice safeguard, but then they should give the option to delete backed up files once you confirm. So, to sum it all up... The device itself is great and works flawlessly. The Y-Disk software needs improvements. The process could be more seamless. BUT, and this is a big one, if you have been struggling with backing up to Windows devices, this is the solution!!!

Very well built USB stick, best ever quality
I was thrilled to realize this USB drive used an app (Y-Disk) that I already had and had used before with another similar type drive. That drive was a disappointment as it was not well made and was falling apart after only a few uses but this one...this will NEVER fall apart! It is a thing of beauty, smooth polished metal and has some solid weight to it. Nothing is loose or wiggly. There is 2 pieces; the drive with standard USB end and a lightning connection for the older iphones & ipads. The second piece is an adapter for the USB-C connections for newer iphones & ipads.I previously used this on my ipad so using it with the iphone was a new experience. First I loaded 3 directories with files inside and a directory with photos on to the stick via desktop computer. Then I plugged the drive in to my iphone which uses the lightning connection.Inside the app, at the very top of the screen there is 2 choices - USB or Internal. Internal shows all your folders and photos on the phone already and USB of course shows the list of files on the drive.Under the very top 2 choices, are the type tabs to choose from (photos, videos etc). I didn't add any documents in any format other than pdf so unsure how others work out yet. I had videos and photos too, but no music. It lists files with date, time and size along with title and format type (pdf docs in this case).Worth noting is the waste of time it was to create folders and load files into the folders on the desktop before transferring on to the drive because it just lists them by type (photos, videos, music, document) and ignores the folders anyway. OK, let me try this again...it will show you the folders with date & time created if you tap the 'file explorer' icon at the screen bottom. Folders list at the top followed by files. Tap on a folder name and it opens to show you the files inside. So it isn't a waste of time after all! But if you don't need them separated like this....You can transfer files from the USB stick to the device or device to the stick. It's pretty quick transferring, I moved some videos off the phone to the stick to test speed. Cool feature was the ability to backup your contacts to the stick and your photos too. The backup file was found in a folder labeled backup on the stick after tapping the 'file explorer' icon at bottom. I love the contact backup feature, I can copy them back to my ipad now easily! This is going to be ideal for transferring any video files from the various camera apps and such. I won't even have to hunt for them, they display under internal/file explorer/mobile video folder within the app. From there it is a matter of selecting them and save to the stick. It also lets you create folders on the stick. It offers encryption of files as well but I don't require that and didn't figure out how it works. Under the settings it shows you the capacity of the stick, free space and qty of each type on it. That's where the encryption options are too as well as instructions. This drive is available in much larger sizes, up to 512 GB. Instructions were adequate and understandable. Although this worked flawlessly with the iphone I could not get it to work with my iPad Pro 11 3rd Gen. AT FIRST. I had to read the detailed manual which is on the stick to realize it WAS actually connecting just works differently on the ipad. This review is already long enough so I am not going in to detail on the ipad connection, you will need to read the manual.I do love this drive, and would still use it with the phone but the ultimate use case for me is with my ipad. I recommend it, especially the larger size 256 or 512 GB drives providing massive storage because these are sturdy little sticks and I doubt you will find them better made anywhere!

Very handy but it has its issues.
This is a USB thumb drive with a purpose. I usually use thumb drives with my PC to quickly transfer files around but never between my PC and my iPhone. When I saw this, I had to give it a try and see what it can and can’t do. Y-disk seems non-intrusive and only asks for access to your photos and data to do its job. No mention of you agreeing to send it god knows where.✔️ What it can do: it can quickly pull all your photo’s and contacts off your phone. We all take way too many pictures and then trust them to some cloud to keep forever. I prefer the piece of mind of having them physically in my possession and not beholden to anyone. I have a PC located in a very visible area of my house and these go into the screen saver. Its great to see pictures you took years ago pop up. I believe they still sell Digital Photo Frames that are essentially screen savers. This would be PERFECT for that.❌ What it can’t do: It can’t take your music from your PC and make them playable on your iPhone via the Music icon. You need iTunes for that. But you CAN play them via the Y-Disk app. Fire that up, select “internal”, then “music”. Its not as functional as “Music” in that you can’t search for songs, all songs are thrown into one large bucket, not separated by albums, you can’t go back to the previous song, etc. If you like to just hit shuffle, and skip past songs you’re not in the mood for, this will work.😒 The annoying: It sucks power from your phone. Every time you plug it in, it asks if Y-Disk can communicate with the thumb drive. After giving it permission, you see a “Loading Data, Please Wait” and it takes quite a while before you can do anything. Like 45-60 seconds. It does this every time you wake your phone up, so if it goes to sleep while its doing that, you end up in an endless loop. I don’t think Y-Disk is very intuitive. Like anything, once you figure it out, you’re good but this is not something you reach for every day. Time between use = forgetfulness. Intuitiveness is important.Other points before I end this review: I don’t like the fact there is no cover for the lightening or USB ports, so I flip it so the lightening port in on the inside and I use the USB-C adaptor as a cover for the USB-A port. There is a user guide on the thumb drive in case you get really stuck. There is a simple “Export Photo” screen that makes that part simple. All in all, I’ll give this 4 stars because its got all these extra capabilities over a regular thumb drive for just a few more dollars, but its far from perfect.
