It works! (updated from 4 to 5 stars!)
This solution DOES work to dispatch squirrels. I didn't screw it directly into my tree. I screwed it to a 5 foot 2x4 board that I strapped to the tree. I baited the trap with peanut butter and some walnut pieces. I then baited the entrance to the trap with peanut butter and walnut pieces to entice them in. I've dispatched 4 squirrels in the last two days. It's great that you don't have to re-bait the trap or trigger! The build quality and packaging are excellent. Although, the plastic bait cap as mentioned in the negative reviews is a problem. I simply used a soup can with a tear-off lid and crimped the inner tear-off edges to secure the soup can over the plastic bait lid. It works great and it's secure. If you follow their included instructions, this will dispatch all types of squirrels! I placed a dab of peanut butter at the trap entrance and just above the trigger on the inside of the tube. I just re-baited with fresh peanut butter and a new gas cylinder after 17 kills in under two weeks!

Absolutely didn't work.
Squirrels didn't go in the trap. I used peanut butter and hazelnut and nuts. Build quality needs to be better. Squirrels will chew up the plastic to get to the bait. Wish I could return it since it's basically useless. The design definitely needs to improved.

AMAZING but flawed!!!
Got one dispatch and a different squirrel MOVED my zipties(didn't bite through them) and REMOVED the tin can to get access to the bait. Already having to buy a replacement plastic cap. I suggest purchasing the readily available metal cover here on Amazon to prevent squirrels from gaining access to the bait. My squirrels are RUTHLESS!!!Personally, I love the design but to $200, it should include the $50 steel cover.

Horrible product
This thing is crap crap. The order did not come with the gel/bait so I was forced to use my own peanut butter. It worked good for a couple of weeks but now it will not hold the compressed air for more than two days. The squirrels are just mocking it and think that I am some kind of joke.Do not buy, the vendor does not have a return policy!

Great trap!
The trap eliminated 7 squirrels within one week. The reviewers which complain about the squirrels chewing through the plastic most likely touched the plastic with peanut butter on their fingers which made the squirrels chew the plastic. I used peanut butter in my trap. Works great. Highly suggest this trap!Edit: The tree rats have started chewing on the caps of my traps (I have 2 of them) but have not chewed through them…yet. They weren’t chewed on until they had been in use for about 6 months. The metal covers arrived just in time! I purchased the metal covers for the traps from GoodNature’s site directly (expensive at $50 each). These covers are now available on Amazon. My traps have whacked 75 squirrels total (averaging a squirrel every 3 days). The war against the tree rat infestation wages on, but their numbers have been greatly reduced. I’m still using peanut butter. Changing out the peanut butter weekly (per the instructions) helps you whack far more squirrels. Smearing some peanut butter below the trap leading up to it helps a lot as well. Best of luck!

Not always lethal
This trap killed many squirrels but also wounded many. I have had to kill several wounded squirrels below the trap myself. Yesterday, a person walking by came to my house to let me know there was a sick squirrel caught in my fence. The squirrel was at leadst 50 feet from the trap. My neighbor told me she had a sick squirrel in her yard, and I have seen others behaving erratically. Also, the plastic cover for the bait was immediately eaten away from a squirrel trying to get at the peanut butter. I remedied that with a thght fitting can but this is a design flaw. Overall, this is a great idea but it needs improvement because it is not humane.

NO BRAINER HACK for bait trap problem 100% effective
Due to the baseball being plastic, the squirrels like to chew it. To get at the bait, I figured I'd try a 10. And a 1/2 ounce can of soup. I opened it and then trimmed it down so that it just Covered the Bait bowl, put it In place and have not had any breach. Through the big bowl on the top, they find out the metals are, and they want nothing to do with it.. I'm not sure about the quality of the thing yet. I've had 6 shots and one squirrel, so I've got red ones that are my problem. And they're a little bit smaller, so I don't know if that's the issue whatever, but I continue to check every day to hopefully. Find a pile of them and maybe that day will come. But I don't see anything wrong with the actual trap. Now that I've got the bowl covered. Overall, I guess I would say the price could come down about a 100 bucks. It hasn't wowed me yet. But at least, but that's you can hack. They won't be able to destroy it.
