Gorgeous
Brilliant, beautiful set! If you have the time and patience you’ll have a lots of fun and you’ll be delighted with the final result. Good instructions overall. There were some defect bricks, but it wasn’t a problem as there were plenty of extras so no need to use a no good brick.

Impressive quality toy
I couldn't be happier with this Pirates Ship Building Blocks Set. As a parent, I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality toy. It's a fantastic supplement to my son's existing Lego collection, bringing a new level of excitement to his building endeavors. The 4059 pieces provided ample creative possibilities, although I must admit, the challenge it presented during assembly pleasantly surprised me. The detailed instructions were a saving grace, guiding both my son and me through the complex construction process. It's been a rewarding experience that has kept us engaged and entertained, proving to be a wonderful gift for adults and kids aged 8 and above.

My 17 year old daughter fly's through Lego sets, this took her a week to do. Would highly recommend for any Lego enthusiast wanting a challenge. Would make a fantastic gift.

Fiddly but pretty
I am in the middle of building it right now and it is quite a challenge but looking better and better as I go. I think it will take me some time to finish but hopefully it will be worth it in the end and I can put it on display for everyone to see!

A good looking, but frustrating diorama construction brick toy set.
This a is a 'so-far' review as my son has yet to fully complete the set (more on that in a moment).I will update it with pictures of the finished ship, plus any other thoughts on it at that time. It's a Lego-alike set with over 4,000 pieces and is designed (unlike regular Lego) to be built (I think) and then left as a display piece. It's nicely presented in the box picture and the pieces come in separate bags (unlike Lego ones they weren't numbered), and it has a glossy instruction booklet, which also shows the other sets available (iconic buildings etc.) from this brand, which is either called Etarnfly or DrStar. In use:My son is a very accomplished Lego set builder and so is well qualified to judge this set in terms of its components and instructions. Even with his small hands he found the pieces, some of which are tiny, tricky to assemble. This is a set with no bricks as such, just plates, and so the build is done in layers. With no brick separator provided removing any misplaced plates was tricky and we had to resort to a nail file to do it. Unfortunately, mislaid bricks were a relatively frequent occurrence as the instructions, despite having the glossy appliance of Lego ones, were just not of the same quality or clarity. As a consequence of the unclear instructions and fiddly plates, this is the longest that my son has taken to build a Lego-type set in years. He has assembled the underwater part so far and is having a few day's finger rest before tackling the sea and ship parts. That is the other issue - my son found assembling (and disassembling) the plates made his fingers sore and given that this is not a quick set to build you will likely need to spread building it over several days.PROS:Nicely presented. What has been built so far looks good and I am sure the finished build will look good, too.The plates seem to hold together well.Would be good once assembled as a display piece.Long build time and lots of pieces.CONS:No brick separator provided.Instructions not at all as clear as they could be.Plates difficult to separate when the inevitable errors occur.Requires small fingers and good dexterity and yet it is not suitable at all for the 6+ age range that the makers claim suitability for.Adults, especially those with sausage fingers, may struggle with the small pieces in this set.Quite a lot of money despite the no. of pieces for what is after all a derivative set that falls down on quality in a couple of areas.OVERALL:The theme of this set is good and it does look good. The unclear instructions, lack of brick (plate) separator and relatively high price though make it a difficult one to recommend. On the plus side there are a lot of pieces and it will take time to build, but at least some of that time is likely to be spent in giving your fingers a rest.
