Technology of the Gods: The Incredible Sciences of the Ancients

Very Interesting
Even if you do not agree with everything in this book, this author does a great job of discussing technology that ancient people had. The text is highlighted by pictures that enhance many of this statements he makes. The author does a great job of taking information from a variety of sources to prove his points and clarify his writing. My two complaints are that some of the pictures are so small that they are frustrating because you can't see much of the detail. Second, the assumption is made that you know about many of the places in this book and I don't. I had never heard of many of these places until reading this book. I would have appreciated a few maps to help clarify where some of these places are.Great book. Very interesting. Enjoy.

A vast wealth of knowledge towards questioning ancient technology
Technology of the Gods is a book that I feel everyone should pick up and read just once. While this is not a book about romance or action or suspense there is a real mystery at hand here. Exactly how smart were our ancient ancestors, and do we even fully understand our own past? This book attempts to answer such questions by presenting various blocks of scientific information gathered up from research done by a large variety of experts, as well as multiple sources of printed material. Each of the 8 chapters this book has contains a wealth of knowledge that will leave you wanting more. However this book has both pros and cons to it and is not perfect by any means. While the negatives to the book are not all that bad, going in blind might leave a harsh taste at first.* This book has 8 chapters which divides the ancient science and technologies up into categories. Megaliths, Machinery, Electricity, Flight, Atomic Warefare are 5 of the major chapters in this book. What threw me for a loop initially is this book does not read like a normal book might. Instead I felt as if I had just picked up a college textbook as each paragraph was just exploding with research data, measurements, gear designs etc. The material is fascinating however, and one could easily become glued to the pages wanting to read more! While the book comes across a bit like a college textbook, I did enjoy how each chapter was broken down. It allows readers having trouble digesting all the information to take breaks. Each chapter is broken up into "topics". For example the Author might bring up THE OSIRIAN CIVILIZATION (which is 4 pages long) filled with facts and interpretations. After that topic there is a whole new section "Ba'ALBEK and OSIRIS" this allows you to simply mark your progress and continue on a new topic at a later time. So while it is very heavy reading, there are many opportunities to take a break w/o losing the flow of the book.* Another problem I had with the book, while minor, could of made for better flow. Each chapter and its topics goes into great detail to describe and explain the technology, but all the pictures are at the END of the chapter. It would of been much more helpful to insert the images with the topic because the reader could follow along with the description, adding to the WOW factor. While this book has some issues, it is a must read for anyone into ancient civilization, ancient technology, ancient astronaut theory or simply someone wanting to see a different view on ancient culture. The book can be a tough read at times due to the technical nature of the material, but the author did a good job breaking it into small sectional topics so you could have plenty of opportunity for breaks. The material is quite fascinating and the author provides 164 different sources for the material found in the book, which opens up new doors for the reader to explore the material further if he/she chooses** I give this book 4 stars. A solid read that will present you with some mind blowing evidence and concepts. A book that introduces the reader to the possibility that we might have misunderstood ancient civilizations. While the material is solid the few flaws this book has (Better organization of the pictures/material and can be very "textbook" like at times) holds it back from being a 5 star book. Still a must read book!

Makes you believe and David was masterful
I saw some of the negative comments about font size and the writing material but I have to disagree. I don't see what those issues are. Woth that said, this book is amazing and will open your mind. You don't have to necessarily believe but this gives you a great perspective on the truth or speculation. Having a chance for David to sign the book at Alien Con 2018 was a plus too. It gets 5 stars but my only complaint would be make it hard cover too.

Important questions - but the book needs an editor BADLY
I love watching David Childress on TV. He raises important questions and comes across as someone with whom you'd really enjoy having fascinating conversations. He also has a great, distinctive voice, and would make a terrific narrator. I especially liked that his premise in this book was not "aliens gave us technology", but rather "we (ancient civilizations of mankind) developed the technologies, and then bombed each other back into the Stone Age, from which we (modern man) are now emerging again."I urge Mr. Childress to re-issue this interesting book in a second edition, and have a professional editor go through it and improve the presentation. A few of the problems:- None of the photographs and diagrams are attributed. Each needs to include a caption that cites the source.- The publisher skimped on page margins. Please, add margins.- Replace all the exclamation marks with periods. Especially if the intent is to be taken seriously.- The bibliography is not arranged in the order in which the works are cited in the text.- Many of the photographs in the text are repeated at the end of each chapter. Delete the redundancies.- At least two books are cited twice (each) in the bibliography.- People's names are misspelled (is it Robin Collyns or Robyn Collins? - can't be both!), as are some book titles ("Laser Beams" is not interchangeable with "Laserbeams").- Do not take up entire pages quoting from specific works. Summarize the material and use a few choice quotes.- Choose either "mankind" or "humankind", and use that one term consistently. Honestly, we women do not have a problem with the word "mankind"; we have a problem with inconsistencies. With a little pulling-together, this book could have a professional look and sound. After all, firm footing and credibility are what the author is striving for.

Very interesting
Don't expect a novel, this is more like a reference book, but very interesting and he includes all his references if you want to dig deeper in the subject...

Livro excelente!
Atendeu às minhas expectativas e as informações contidas são muito precisas e documentadas. É de interesse, pois nos apresenta experimentos de que dispunham os antigos e que, mesmo hoje em dia (tecnologia atual), está distante de nosso alcance.

Good and informative book about how the ancients had advanced ...
Good and informative book about how the ancients had advanced technology and how it was lost in the mists of time. Great reading for those who are interested in such things. Plenty of illustrations to keep the interest alive! I'd give this a 4.5 out of 5.
