This is an excellent, albeit somewhat short book on how to incorporate astrology into your practice. A lot of people already work with the phases of the moon, but this book also covers stations of the sun (sunrise, noon, etc.) planetary hours, moon signs, and more. Excellent introduction to how people worked with astrology early in hoodoo. cat yronwode's books are always filled with history- spiritual, cultural, and even commercial. She always includes lots of information about interesting figures from those early days.

Astrology for Rootworkers is an excellent resource for those who wish to incorporate astrological data into their spellwork or other spiritual rituals. Ms. Ironwode briefly provides an overview of how various cultures practiced Astrology, and how these various modalities traveled to western shores. Ms. Yronwode gives an overview of Astrological terms for the newcomer before moving on to the chapters on spellwork. Of tremendous value are the chapters on Astrology and candle magic, love spells and jinxes, and performing magic according to the phases of the sun, moon, and Seven Sacred Planets. I highly recommend this book for your conjuring library.
