Great plane for all levels of experience
I’m having lots of fun flying this little plane. Yes it is kinda small, the plane is about one foot square when looking down at it. A four channel plane, ailerons, elevator, rudder, and throttle controls for an aircraft this small is unusual. Then add a gyro to make it stable and easier to fly. Then add a stunt button, since the gyro is trying to stabilize the plane the stunt button makes it possible to still enjoy some loops and rolls. Even though it is cheating, it’s still very cool.I’m flying at the local school yard which is a soccer size field. This is enough, but a larger field is better, especially for beginners. All of my landings have pretty much been crash landings. Since I’m landing on grass, the wheels don’t roll, the grass just grabs the landing gear and the plane does a forward flip and lands upside down. I do bring it in as slow and low as I can and just cut the power when it touches down. No problem, this plane is so light, it doesn’t hurt with this kind of landing. No damage so far, after about a dozen flights, I’m still using the original propeller, which has popped off a couple of times on some rougher landings. The kit I bought came with two batteries and I’m getting about 15 to 20 minutes of flying from each battery for a total of 40 minutes of flying time. In addition this plane looks cool and much like the real P-51 and it’s a great value for what you get.Nothing bad to say about this kit, only a comment that it is small and it is light so best to fly with no wind or low wind. All said it’s a great little plane for so many reasons and at a great price. Pick one of these planes from this war bird series, buy it and go have some fun.

Great plane with X-Pilot
This plane is excellent. For new/beginner pilots-DO NOT USE THE THREE BLADE PROP. It comes with 3 and 2 blade props. The three blade prop breaks every time. The two blade prop, on the other hand, survives quintillions of crashes. For beginners, this plane is great. The foam is SUPER durable and flexible. So far it’s survived at least 60 smash-downs and more than one roll over and over crash. Not only that, but it flew over a chain fence and the landing gear collided into it and the plane did a not-graceful dive into the ground. The prop save system is excellent, surviving several hard crashes straight into concrete. A tip is to use the right-side stick for turning, as the rudder is less effective. Wind resistance is superb. The only complaint is that the plane tends to be nose heavy during landings. Overall a great little plane! One last note-the rear wheels are not linked to the rudder, so it cannot really taxi.P. S This plane is not great for beginners, as the wings are under the plane, so the glide and slow-fly capabilities are lost. The airspeed needs to be fast to stay in the air.

Very fun, easy to fly toy
This simple RC airplane is a real blast to fly. You can fly it in your street, a small park, a large backyard - it's great to do this with because it's so light you'd really have to work at it to damage anything. The pop-off prop is great, reattaches with ease and makes nose-dive landings easily recoverable. I flew it into a park bench and the wing just bounced off without even a divot in the foam. The control throws aren't great, the controller is pretty junky, but you're only paying like a hundred bucks for the whole package so it's more than acceptable. It's a great starter aircraft with the auto-stability enabled, it flies perfectly flat and steady and landing is a dream. (Seriously, it's super easy to land with stability on.)This particular model, the P-47, isn't very scale in appearance, but does have the elliptical wings that the famed warbird did, which makes it very prone to stalling and loss of control at low speeds - you pretty much need to keep the motor running if you want to maneuver, but no big deal once you get used to it. This isn't a precision model, so your CG may be a little off (mine was a little tail-heavy) and the trim functionality didn't seem great, but just a great toy to play with and the price is right.Get one, enjoy it, slam it around and take it places. This is a great 15 minute afternoon diversion on a still day!

Amazing!
I grew up flying control line planes and always wanted to get into RC planes. I tried a few beginner planes 10 years ago and the results were catastrophic (destroying the plane in 30 seconds). I thought I would give the VolantrexRC plane a try given that it has built in stabilization. I have to say my expectations were low. Boy was I surprised! Plane (P-51) came ready to fly. I charged the supplied batteries and put 4 AAs in the transmitter and was ready to fly. I went to a football field with just a slight breeze. Put the plane in beginner mode and launched it. The plane flew beautifully, very easy to control and nice performance. Had a few hard landings, but the plane was pretty robust - the breakaway prop is awesome. The preprogramed aerobatics are very cool, just make sure you have some speed and are at a decent altitude. Recommend not installing the landing gear, slows the plane down and also snaps the mount if you do a hard landing. Just hand launch the plane with 70% throttle and you should be fine. Love this plane and cannot recommend it enough.

Very stable in the hands of a veteran and a novice.
Even in a light breeze this plane was easy to fly. It's small but fun. Due to its size a smaller flying field is ok - I first flew it in a high school baseball field, just right and center fields. The prop does pop off at the slightest bump on landing, but goes back on easily. The part that the prop connects to wears out after x number of reconnects but replacement parts can be quickly ordered and the plane repaired (my adult son did this order-and-repair in 2 days). The only thing I miss is the sound of a gas engine. Overall, a fun and inexpensive r/c plane for beginners and veterans.

Will not fly
The plane takes of fine, but then pulls to the left so hard it can’t take off and crashes every time.
