Super Easy Setup — My New Go-To Drive Dock!
This SSK enclosure is exactly what I needed. I’ve got a bunch of old hard drives laying around and wanted a quick, hassle-free way to access them — this thing delivered! No tools needed, which I love. Just pop the drive in, close the lid, and plug it in. Took less than 30 seconds to get going. It handled both 3.5" and 2.5" drives no problem, and recognized my 10TB and 16TB drives without a hiccup. The USB 3.0 speed is solid, and I noticed a nice bump in performance thanks to UASP support. Great for backing up files, testing drives, or just turning old drives into external storage. It also lays flat and feels pretty sturdy, which is great if you’re tight on space or want to stack things. Honestly, for the price, this is a total win. Might grab another one just to keep on hand.

Good For External Backups - Worked Great With Ubuntu Linux
As I accumulated more videos on my hard drive, making the external backup was taking so long I wasn't doing it as often as I should. I bought this SSK 3.5" external hard drive enclosure, a FebSmart USB 3.0 PCI Express card, and a Western Digital HGST Deskstar HDN724040ALE640 4TB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive. Ubuntu 22.04 Linux recognized the card so apparently it already had the driver. I formatted the new hard drive using the ext4 format and enabled encryption for the entire drive. Using the provided USB cable from my old HP 8200 computer, I'm getting 135 MB/s write speeds, which is a lot faster than before. I can make a 2 TB backup in a few hours, in the background. Easy peasy.

I can use these to access my older and newer HDD drives.
There are many enclosures to choose from. I bought this. It fits great. The quality isn't the greatest but buying better means more money. It was easy for me to use. It functions great. The major downside is the heat. HDD's can get very warm to a little hot. Which is why I keep the enclosure upright or on it's side, instead of down. But this can happen with many enclosures. Unless it has an actual fan, then it can help remove the heat better. There are little holes on the bottom, which is why I keep the enclosure upright or on it's side to allow passive cooling. Thankfully, it'll stop operating if you keep it idle and or you just press the power button to turn it off. The drive fits great. No sliding or coming loose. I have several older HDDs which I was able to access it thanks to this. Like I said before, heat is the only thing I'm concerned. As long as you aren't using it all the time, it won't damage the HDD. But keeping it on for hours, can harm the drive as there isn't a way to remove the heat faster and keep it cool. Though, keeping it on the side or upright, will help as it creates passive cooling. Allowing the heat to pass through and the air to keep it cool.

Awesome enclosure, great price!
Unit is perfect for housing extra 3.5" SATA hard drives. Unit came with the proper cable and it was a plug and play event. The drive fits snugly in the case and so far cooling has not been an issue. Just might have to order another on for my 2.5" drive. Overall, well constructed, easy to set up and use, Works great!! I like that it automatically shuts down the drive when not used for an extended period of time. It responds quickly when requested. Great buy!

Works great
Works great for an old 2TB Seagate HDD. I did have to peel off the foam spacer pieces to get the drive to fit in the box. Drive does run a little warm but not enough to worry about for a drive that will be used occasionally for backup duty. Overall, a nice enclosure so far.

perfect choice
This was the perfect solution to recover data from my old pc. It worked perfectly. Lighting strike near the cable pole took out the cable router and fried the computer attached to it by an ethernet cable. Fortunately, the hard drive did not appear to be compromised. The replacement did not have any SATA connections so I ordered the enclosure to house the old HDD and retrieve the data. This was easy to install the drive and the SATA to USB C adapter built in worked wonderfully. All my data files were easily transferred to the new SSD flawlessly. I may just keep the thing and use for a back up.

Easy to set up and use
Threw a 5yr old SATA drive in the hard drive enclosure connected to USB 3.0 and works perfectly. I'd say good value for the money.

Great enclosure for an older SATA HDD!
Ordered this for an old 1TB drive I had saved from a prior PC. The enclosure is made of sturdy plastic, and it was very easy to open the case and insert the drive. The drive is held in place with some foam material on the sides and back. I plugged in the power and data cables, then powered on the device. My PC recognized the drive immediately and I was able to access the files with no issues. The blue power light sits at the back of the cover near the input connections. It flashes during data exchange with the PC and is fairly bright. Some users might want to cover it with a piece of black tape if they find it bothersome. Great product!
