Pre-Raphaelites

I am not usually a fan of Pre-Raphaelites but then I came across a Facebook Group which I felt impelled to have a look.Some of the art was so beautiful it bought a lump to my throat and some just tears to the eyes.So why on earth did I write all that?Well, for the simple reason I was taken back by the collection of utter bloody rubbish in this book. OR COULD IT POSSIBLY BE THE TRANSFER OF THE ACTUAL WORK TO THE PAGE ( WELL SORRY ) I found the selection of paintings in this book truly boring and tiresome.I am going to get Crucified for this review.

Great illustrations! However, is missing some of the big figures of the period.

Wonderful easy to read book with most of the famous and popular paintings shown. This is an ideal introduction to the Pre-Raphaelites for those with limited or no knowledge of them

I'm really quite impressed with this book. The reproductions are vivid, printed on heavy paper and enjoyable to look at. The coordinating text that accompanies each image is full of interesting detail about the painting as well as the artist without being superfluous. The introduction is surprisingly thorough for a rather slim book. A nice addition to my collection.

Another wonderful book by Taschen. I have always loved the pre-raphaelites and this particular book provides a great overview of movement with excellent reproductions.

This book dont even shows pre-raphaelites most important works. Should have chosen another book.. I know their art on basic level, and still found nothing interesting in this edition. It has only few prints and with such wide borders! Its the total waste of paper
