Basic Toaster + Great Price
In the past I have purchased several major brand name toasters. All failed miserably. Either they toasted everything unevenly, or burnt even when I adjusted toast setting or just quit working. This toaster is working out great. I wanted a basic toaster without all those "extra" settings (for bagels, frozen, etc.) which I paid $$ for. I highly recommend this toaster. The price is right $ and thicker breads + bagels fit in it.

Just what I needed!
For "too long" I used my countertop oven for toast, but it was always so slow and so unpredictable. I finally decided to get a traditional toaster and I am glad I did. This little toaster is a work horse and gives me perfect results every time with very little wait and it was very reasonably priced.

Not a bad price for what you get...
Bagel setting doesn't really toast/warm as I desire so I just use standard setting.... does great on toast.

Great value for money!
I love the toaster and it does a great job helping me enjoying a good breakfast. A few highlights on the toaster:1. The four slice design is perfect for me to make quick breakfast for a family of four2. It has seven browning settings which helps us accommodate different preferences3. The illuminated buttons and modern design is a great compliment to the kitchen countertop

An ok cheap toaster
Pros: its cheap, it's small (I dont have a lot of counter space so this is a pro to me), bagel setting is a nice feature, and the slots fit most bread slices in terms of thickness and length.Cons: The smell is awful, like burning chemicals, not super strong but bad enough I always check to make sure the stove isn't leaking gas. The toasting is uneven (passable, just annoying). Also, when I press the lever to toast my bread, I have to push my bread down manually with my fingers to get it all the way down as the lever leaves the bread sticking out an inch or two.Overall it's not an awful toaster, its decent for the price, but I feel like if I had spent $5-$10 more on a different toaster, I wouldn't have as many issues. Basically, so long as it doesn't die, it works for my current situation but I won't have it for much longer after that.

Love This Toaster! Be Sure To Run 3 To 4 Empty Toast Cycles Before First Use As Instructed.
I cook and bake extensively, all of our meals are eaten at home with food I prepare. Our old toaster was on its last leg. Purchased this Amazon Basics 2 Slice Extra Wide Slot Toaster as a replacement. Love it! Everything about this toaster exceeded my expectations.- Very durable construction and 2 extra wide slots for thicker bread, bagels, or waffles. The black insulating material around the toaster really helps keep the sides of the toaster cooled when toasting.- Easy to use with 6 shade settings, a bagel setting, a frozen setting, and a cancel button. Crumb tray is easy to remove.- Does a spectacular job of toasting (Pic of a toasted slice of my homemade sourdough sandwich loaf bread attached.)Important Before First Use: Be certain to follow the "Before First Use" instructions in the Product Manual before toasting for the first time. (Pic attached.) You need to run the toaster empty for 1 cycle on shade 6, and 2 or 3 cycles on shade 4 (I did 3) to removed any residual manufacturing residue from the inside of the toaster. (This is normal for a new toaster.) As stated in the instructions, I -did- get a bit of smoke at the start of the first shade 6 cycle, nothing in other 3 cycles. So be sure to have the toaster in a well ventilated area when doing this prep, such as by an open window, or under a stove hood that is on and venting out.A terrific value, too. I highly recommend this product.

Compact size with different modes
Pros: Matte body, not shiny like other appliances that show every fingerprint. Doesn't take up much counter space. Nice crumb tray that's easy to empty. Bagel mode works well. I haven't yet tried the frozen one.Cons: Wish the cord came out the back instead of the side. Doesn't toast evenly. You have to flip the bread around to toast the other side more because the middle heat element seems to work better than the two on the sides. I noticed it toasts better if (once it's heated), you do a second batch.Summary: All in all, a nice looking basic toaster that may cost you a little time to 'get just right.' Good price.
