I bought this for my daughter in law for a gift. Not just her but everyone else loved it! Such a beautiful color too!

What I Loved is the color, but also it was surprising it came in it's own case. What I should have foreseen is that it doesn't come with any fishing line.It's comfortable to hold, is able to quick change between right and left handed, it's a high quality product

Everything works as it should. The wife loves the color of both rod and reel! Nothing negative to say about this combo!

Really good looking fishing rod and performs even better

First thing I noticed is that the colors really stand out on this rod/reel set by Sougayilang! Don't see these colors often (especially from the name brands!). Reel is very smooth and feels nice in the hand. The major issue I have with this is that the two-piece doesn't seal all the way in the middle. There's about half an inch where the two-piece rod doesn't come together. I'm extremely weary of using the rod and catching a large fish with it because of that gap. I'm worried it's going to come apart in the middle of some action.Hopefully Sougayilang gets their quality control down to fix these rods. The reel is nice but the rod is a hard pass until they get this fixed.

Received item in timely manner. Upon inspection the anti reverse didn’t work on the reel. The spring was not connected properly and thus I fixed it. Went fishing the next day and I enjoyed it right up to the point where a 3 lbs walleye snapped the rod. Don’t waste your money.

Cast fine. It went diagonally across the street into the driveway. Couldn't ask for a better cast.My first time dialing in drag and such settings, and it was a long cast for me... and it didn't birds nest. Lure flew and flew.... plopped in to the driveway over there and the reel just stopped.Nice. Retrieval went as my wife put pressure on the line a few times to simulate 5-10lbs of fish drag. Perfect.Ready for our weekend trip, and I trust this pole and reel.-------------Spooled ok. This is my first time adding line to a reel. It was a learning experience. I ended up twisting the on/off cap and taking the reel out to tie the line on (getting old, hands don't fit in that small of a space) and noticed the instructions had holes in the reel where you could pass line through and tie it off. It does not have that on the reel, just two smooth cones that meet at the center. Used an arbor knot and did it, kind of ends up acting like a yoyo, did one soft rotation on the handle and it snugged up. Spooled new monofilament line into it. Nice back and forth motion and kept tension. Seems ok.I had some issue with the captain's wheel looking rotating thing under the handles. I had to click that down to tighten something internally a few times, as the little pressure I would put on the line would pull it outwards too much / the reel knobs wouldn't really pull in enough. Whatever tightened ended up making it act like I expected once I rotated said knobs. Beginner error, I'm sure. Basically, instructions could be better or I guess watch some online videos to figure it out.Casting test in a couple days after some lures and swivels arrive.----Came rod in sectional bag. Nice sleek metallic purple finish.Cork handle has plastic protection.It's taller than I am, and I'm 6'4.Reel inserted and firmly locked into place. Plastic protection over both reel handles. Nice, removed those with pull tabs.Everything seems 100%, will finalize after I get line in (first time to spool my own line into a reel, so we'll test those instructions to the fullest beginner extent!)

The Sougayilang purple medium heavy rod and reel combo is an AMAZING rod and reel combo! I love the purple color as it gives the rod and reel some personality. The reel is very smooth and casts really far out! It has 12+1 ball bearings, which means the reel is buttery smooth! The rod is stiff and medium/heavy, where you can use heavy weights to whip your baits a far distance. The rod is made out carbon, so you don't feel the extra rod weight, which is nice on your arms if you are throwing a lot of lures out. I used this rod for catfish and striper fishing and it has some amazing action on it! The Sougayilang is a huge fishing rod brand, but you may not know this because they aren't in your city retail shops. The best part about their products is they make high quality fishing equipment with an ECONOMICAL price. Everything you buy from your local fishing tackle stores are a ripoff compared to what you can buy on Amazon. I am a huge fan of Sougayilang fishing products and would purchase more of their products without hesitation.
