Looks excellent on the outside, but lacks details about its interior construction
Any actual "testing" will need to wait till my vehicle gets stuck, or I come across someone else who's stuck; and any "off roading" won't happen till this coming fall. When it's needed, I have no specific reason to doubt this rope will fulfill its purpose. However, the exterior braiding is really just to protect the inner rope which handles all of the load - and there is no information about that interior (except that it's maybe nylon). The exterior quality does look excellent and consistent along its length. The ends look well protected by the polyurethane coating. The soft shackles look well made without any unusual looking inconsistencies. Even the gloves are surprisingly comfortable and thick.I do wish the mfg provided more clear information about the rope's construction, maybe a "cut-away" showing the internals. The mfg does list a "load capacity" of 33,000lb. Yet in one of the photos it says "capacity 37,500" - hmmm. And under "material" it lists "allow steel" - huh, I wonder where that would be.Well made kinetic ropes really are the best choice (given the appropriate situation) for a vehicle recovery. When it comes to pulling a stuck vehicle, it's much better, and safer, to use a rope that stretches (than one that doesn't). If a rope doesn't stretch, then an immediate shock is imparted to both vehicles and that can break things. Using a kinetic (stretchy) rope gradually applies the force on the vehicles, which helps prevent damage. Also as it stretches, energy is built up in the rope, and that's more energy available to pull the stuck vehicle.I'd have a better feeling about this rope if the mfg had provided more specific construction details. Presenting this type of information seems appropriate given the nature of this device, and the potential for damage if a failure were to occur.
