One of the best purchases I ever made
First and foremost let me say that I love the way technology prices are driven down year after year. In year's past buying a Dual-Band N Router would have been an unreasonable price and hard to find top of the line item. Now, I found myself replacing a faulty years old model for a nearly top of the line Dual-Band N router by paying a little more than what I paid for the brand x / entry-level model of yesteryear. So, how well does it work? Installation was simple and straight forward, daily use is without issue, and in my apartment alone we have a 7 in. Acer Iconia tablet, a Xbox 360, a wireless Canon printer, a Dell laptop, a HP laptop, two Google Nexus 4's and hard wired PS3. All of which is handled nicely and with no performance hit at all. I would recommend this router to my friends and family. P.S. Don't ever buy a Lyksys router as I have had nothing but trouble with routers Belkin is the way to go.

New router no support without a fee
Bought a new Belkin F7D8302 Play N600 Wireless Dual-Band N Router. Following the instructions I ran the CD and at the end of the setup the screen said "please give Belkin a call, and we can give you a hand". The phone number was in large print and there was a button on the bottom that said try again. I called for help and was told that I would have to pay $20.00 for support or I could go to their website for help. Ah... I could not get onto the internet, the router wasn't working. Before he transferred me to another tech he tried to sell me another Belkin Router for $86.00 including a discount of $20.00. Do these guys actually listen to you when you call? I said I just bought a new Belkin router and wanted to use some explicative's but I didn't. The tech I was transferred to said even though the unit was new it was bought through Amazon and could not get phone support without the $20.00 fee. I got it to work without their help. It does not seem any better than the Linksys I replaced.

Belkin Router Review
The router is working very well now. It was difficult to install on my operating system only because I use Ubuntu and had to install it manually. Once I figured out that I didn't need the disk and could perform a manual install, it was no problem and the router works wonderfully.... it just took some research and much of my time. This Belkin Router is a VERY GOOD product, and I would definitely recommend it to others (regardless of their OS). I am able to hook my printer to it, as well, and that is a very nice bonus feature. My only critique would be that Belkin offer instructions on the manual installation of this product OR make the product software compatible with Ubuntu and like operating systems (these types of OS are becoming more popular nowadays anyway.).

It works fine for me
I was looking for a router with the following: 1. Dual band to make sure old adapters work fine and new n-devices gets the maximum speed. 2. A USB port for sharing some storage. 3. Some parental control to make sure kids do not access network always. I got all these in this device and this was the cheapest I could find. I wish it supported IP reservation as well, but I can live with it. So far very happy with the device. EDIT: I figured how to simulate IP reservation!. Goto LAN settings->DHCP server settings, verify the IP address range, if it is set between 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.100, then you can use anything outside this (above 100 upto 255) for static ip, the router will never assign those to anyother device. Only condition is that you should be able to request a static IP from the devices.

Belkin dual band router-SO UPSET!!
I hadn't bought a new router in 7 years & being that I recently signed up for netflix & xbox live, have 3 smartphones, 2 laptops, 2 tablets & amazon prime (all wireless) my old router (also a Belkin) wasn't doing a great job at keeping up with everything we had. After talking to computer 'geeks' & researching several myself, I decided this Belkin dual band router was the best way to go, as well as the least expensive. In the first week or so, it seemed to perform as expected-my netflix (which I watch through my wireless ps3 in the next room) was working better, the laptops in the front room were working fine & my sons' xbox live wasn't dropping at all. I was happy-until it started acting up. I looked into the routers' specifications, instructions, etc-after switching the channels, it was okay again for a few days, then started acting weird again. All of our smartphones must be restarted or turned completely off & on to pick up the wi-fi signal from the router-even if we're standing right in front of it. The netflix AND amazon wil NOT work for longer than a few hours before it says I don't have enough bandwidth (**before getting this router, I ordered the highest bandwidth available from my internet provider, that wasn't the issue). My son can't play xbox live for longer than an hour or so-it will drop the signal for a few seconds & pick it up again. I'm not familiar with that since I'm not a gamer, but from what I understand, if you lose the signal even for a split second, you're kicked out of the match, game, whatever it's called. He's frustrated, of course. I have the darn thing set on the easiest specifications & it just doesn't seem to do what I desperately needed it to do. I really liked the Belkin brand & SO wanted to enjoy this router for as long as I did my last one. I'm afraid when I get the money, I'm going to dish out big bucks for another dual band router that does what it says it will do. Pretty disappointed in this one. **I need to add this-I did call customer service to ask them about the router. They were quite rude, VERY unhelpful and told me all my problems were with my internet comapny-BEFORE I explained my issues to them. They refused to give me any numbers to a different customer service department & after calling the 3 numbers I had for them, the last guy just simply hung up on me. In conclusion; I really liked the Belkin brand due to the last router I had-it lasted forever with not one issue! =) However, that router must have been far above the norm for this brand. The router does NOT do what it says it will, all signals are dropped willy nilly and their customer service is, without a doubt, among the WORST I have ever encountered in my entire life. **I shoiuld also mention, I did have my computer geeky friend (who is also an engineer) come over & look into this router, adjust whatever needed to be adjusted, etc. It worked fine for one day, then went back to the same poop. ***Also keep in mind, I am NOT as computer saavy as some. I know a bit more than the regular person, but not much. I do know how to look things up & do all I can to fix my issues myself. This router is the pits. I really wish I had spend the extra $60-$75 & bought one that performed exactly as it was supposed to. Pretty sick with Belkin right now. I would definitely NOT recommend this router to anyone. I fully intend on giving it away asap. Maybe pull an "Office Space" scene on it after I get a real one.....

NO SUPPORT
I recently bought this router and called Belkin for help in setting it up. I was frostily informed that Belkin does not provide support for the N600. This despite the warranty information shown on the box, there is no support. The thing works fine if you can install it yourself, but don't expect help from Belkin.

GOOD MACHINE!
Salaam Aleikum, long live the Iranian Islamic Republic (IIA) and Iranian Empire! This router is very good! The setup is easy and installing it is simple. The throughput is good up to about 25 meters. If there are walls in between it doesn't affect the bandwidth much. The dual band is very good for devices if they need the 5.0 GHz N band separately. Overall a very good buy!!

Worst Router I've Ever Owned.
I am a network technician and the only thing that gave me gratification is when I SMASHED this POS router with a hammer and replaced it with a router that was half the cost. I enjoyed smashing this crappy router because it would drop wireless, it would drop the internet, it would never reconnect unless i sat there for 20 minutes holding its hand. All I can say is if you want a router that sucks that you can smash, this is your router.
