They seem to be great
I bought these for my family for the upcoming solar eclipse, which goes right over us on Oct 14th, 2023. I expected them to be a one use product and you could probably get several uses out of them. I tested them out the other afternoon and they seemed great!

Product Works Great
I bought these glasses for my whole family. All of us just live in the perfect cross connection area of annular eclipse 14,October 2023 and totality eclipse 8, April 2024, so I know locally these will get very expensive next year. Iām hoping we can get a watch party together for the whole family.

There is no such thing as a "NASA approved Factory"
Compared these to optical film eclipse glasses I ordered from a known source and these let a lot more light through. Also, the image of the sun is fuzzier with this metallic film. No idea if they are safe or not, just not as dark as the glasses I got from a known source.

Safely view the sun during celestial events
These are a good size for adults and bigger kids. We have a "ring of fire" event coming up in a few days that I'll be using these for. We then have a full solar eclipse coming in 2024. I wanted to have something my family and I could view them with and these will definitely allow that. I looked at the sun through these and had no discomfort at all. I took a picture with my smartphone as well, though it looks a bit more clear with our eyes than it did with the camera - you can see how dark everything looks through these.

The eclipse is gonna be so bright, I gotta wear these shades!
We're near the center of the path for the 4/24 eclipse, and I remember running around at the last minute trying to find shades for the last eclipse, I I want to be ready. Lots of fake imitators out there. I still have the ones I found which were legit, but it's been a while and I'm concerned that the plastic might have degraded or have pinholes, so it's time to get a new set. This six-pack seems to fit the bill. It claims all kinds of certifications, NASA-approved factory, etc. but the proof is whether we'll have an eclipse-shaped hole in our retinas next May.With these glasses, I'm thinking not. They are very dark -- can't see anything when wearing them, which is a good thing. I put these on over my glasses, went outside in the 105 degree heat, and briefly looked at the sun to see if any light made it through these shades at all. There was no discomfort -- it's surprising how small our central fusion furnace actually is -- same size as the full moon (go figure, what a kawinkidink). I also tried to take a picture through the shades -- you can see it above. So for the price and claimed certifications, you can't go wrong here -- be ready for next year. I would suggest that you put these over prescription glasses or sunglasses to block out the UV, just in case. An extra layer of protection can't hurt.So for the price, and claimed certifications, these can't be beat.

Looking forward to the eclipse
These glasses have the ISO certification for viewing the sun, and when tested looking at the sun, I am able to use these as intended. They are made of heavy paper with plastic lenses, but they will work great for the upcoming total solar eclipse. This is a good sized pack of glasses that will work for my whole family. I recommend them for you as you preapre for the solar eclipse in 2024.

Lightweight and relatively inexpensive
These are very similar to others I have used in the past. They look like they will provide sufficient protection when we get to watch the eclipse, but I have no way to test the effectiveness. I just have to believeā¦The price when ordered was $9.99 for the six pack. Reasonable in my opinion.

Appears to be safe to use, but the view of the sun is brighter than optimal for comfortable viewing.
I tested these cheap disposable solar eclipse glasses in light of the upcoming annular solar eclipse (Oct 2023) and total solar eclipse (April 2024), visible from North America. In short, these eclipse glasses seem to adhere to the international safety standard and therefore are likely safe to use.The view of the sun with these glasses, however, is brighter than is optimal for comfortable viewing.(This was pointed out in an academic study after the last major total solar eclipse back in 2017. You can find out more by googling. Unfortunately, the standard organization has not responded by updating the standard with a lower transmission rate.)There are solar films that are darker and thus better for comfortable viewing of the sun.For this reason I am deducting 1 star and rating these eclipse glasses 4 stars.
