Sturdy and excellent assitance
I tore my meniscus and needed assistance in the bathroom, this was a miracle and allowed me to sit down and get up off the toilet with ease!!

Like it so much I ordered TWO more!
In exchange for an honest review (Amazon Vine) I received a 20 inch gold color grab bar. It's wonderful! The best part is the textured part of the handle. So easy to grip and hands don't slip, even if wet.I have ordered two more - a second 20 inch gold color so I can have a bar on each side of the toilet - disabled family member and then a 32 inch one in satin silver to go over the bath tub.Each of the gold ( 20 inch - toilet area) ones are screwed into wooden studs that are 16 inches on center. The bars are at an angle, that is, not horizontal - parallel to the floor, and not vertical. The low side is at the rear and the high side is near the front of the toilet. The toilet area is 4 feet wide. Easy to reach and pull yourself up with your hands on both sides.The silver color for the tub area is 32 inches long and a perfect horizontal fit over the tub, attached directly to studs at each end of the bar.Very safe. So much better for me and my loved one.

Imperfection hindered install
Rail works well & looks good. Just one problem with install. Flange ends of pipe had enough metal burrs on them that flange covers would not slip onto the pipe. Had to use a metals file to file burrs down. Then covers fit on the pipe & rest was simple.

Buyer beware. Not good quality. Purchased another one from Home Depot
Didn't seem strong enough to be used as a safety bar. Buyer beware because when I went to return via UPS store, I was told I needed to box it up! Apparently, some items from vendors on Amazon now have to be in original packaging or packaged before they will take it back. My installer had already tossed out the box. This bar is 36 inches. UPS would sell me a box for $25. Ridiculous. Don't trust these 3rd party sellers.
