Smaller, lighter and made of glass
Received today. Appears excellent, this narrow glass design taking up less counterspace. I consider the Brita Smart Light an improvement on the plastic jug digital counter. When green turns to yellow and then red, it's time to replace a filter. Three of these come with this jug.

Just what I wanted
I've had a couple of plastic Brita jugs but I've always ended up not using them as I cant get them as clean looking as I would like. But this glass one is so easy to clean and looks clean so I feel confident. The use timer in the lid works well and seems to be accurate.Easy to fill, clean, and use.My only disappointment is that it is not fridge door friendly so we can't use it for cold drinking water, we use it to fill out kettle and coffee machine and it's really cut the amount of limescale. Not too heavy but not as light as a plastic one. It's sturdy but being glass it will break if dropped, but it feels like it will withstand a bang on the sink, but we are being careful! No horrid taste so that great.

Less plastic is a good thing
Purchased July 2024Reviewed April 2025I believe this was the latest model at the time of purchase.Quality - This is the first glass water filter I have seen. So far so good.Concerns - (1) The lid can be a little tricky to remove. (2) The glass is quite thin; enough for me to worry that an unexpected knock would crack the glass - time will tell. (3) With a new model comes an 'improved' filter, the cost of which is shocking, so I am sticking with buying mine from a certain wholesaler.Yes I would recommend this item to reduce the use of plastic.

Making Hydration Classy, One Sip at a Time
After shopping around and even giving a competitor a fair shot, I've come back to Brita, thanks to their sleek new glass carafe. This thing makes filtering water feel like an upscale experience. It's not just about looks, though—it’s also a breeze to clean, and you won't have to deal with those unsightly scratches that plastic carafes develop over time. Plus, glass just feels more hygienic. In most cities, filtering your water is non-negotiable, and I've definitely noticed an improvement in taste with Brita. It's like going from tap sludge to mountain spring purity. However, there is a minor hiccup: this carafe won’t fit into the fridge side door. Seriously, Brita, a little fridge-friendly design wouldn’t hurt.Despite this minor flaw, I still wholeheartedly recommend it. If you want your water to taste great and look stylish while doing it, this glass carafe is a must-have. Just make sure to clear some shelf space in your fridge and enjoy your elevated hydration game!

Water is purified … for a price 💦💦🔫
Got the glass versions as I thought “I’m trying to reduce my micro plastic intake so probably shouldn’t clean water in a plastic jar”This water purifier does exactly what it promises—delivers clean, fresh-tasting water. It’s easy to use, and I’ve noticed a big difference in taste compared to tap water. No weird aftertaste, just crisp, refreshing water. The filter lasts a decent amount of time, and replacing it isn’t too pricey. Not the fanciest model out there, but for the price, it’s a solid buy. If you’re tired of bottled water or chlorine taste, this is a great solution!

Great water jug
We bought this as a replacement for our very old plastic Brita jug (Marella style). This is such a nice product to use. Although smaller I actually enjoy filling it up and the glass makes an ordinary item just a little more luxury. The flip lid stays open when filling which is handy. And my biggest plus is that the there is no rim on the bottom outside edge which used to get dirty and have to be cleaned. It’s just smooth glass. Yes it does run the risk of smashing, but then plastic can crack. Very happy with it!

Pointless and Disappointing Product
This is advertised as a "Glass" jug, but about 40% of it is PLASTIC. Whilst the main jug is indeed glass, the large Filter Funnel inside which holds the cartridge is pure plastic. So what's the point of buying this? I was looking for a GLASS water filter product, to avoid ingesting micro-plastic particles into my body. If the inner filter funnel is all plastic, it is constantly going to be in contact with the water, defeating the whole purpose of buying this in the first place. This product is ill-conceived, overpriced and NOT even a 90% glass product. It is also disappointingly small, not as large as many other Brita Plastic Jugs. I don't want to have to refill it several times a day. Many people have pointed out that it is fragile. I can't comment on that. It does look quite pretty AND IS ELEGANT. BUT USELESS. I trusted Brita so I did not read the negative comments. before buying this. I assumed it would be made of glass. Having unpacked it and checked it, it is now back in its carton to be returned. Waste of time and money.Sorry Brita, as a reputed and trusted company, surely you can do better? I don't want to dump more dissolved micro-PLASTICS into my body.I am surprised that BRITA do not answer to any of the reviews, especially the critical points raised by so many purchasers.
