This cable is completely non-functional (shows errors in device manager) and will not work whatsoever with my 5K plus. Troubleshooting performed was in sequence, plugging USB to 3.0 port then DP to GPU and then proceeding to plug the proprietary cable into the headset then plug it into power. After which I was getting errors on the USB in device manager so I tried to disable/enable the USB that was failing for the cable and perform a fresh restart with no luck, even tried different working ports.. for reference my previous cable while artifacting is still functional enough to prove that the port reads the cable properly. Sending back for a hopefully working replacement.

Despite promising compatibility with the 8K series, this cable is completely non-functional and will not work whatsoever with my 8K plus. Do not buy.
