I have gone through more umbrellas than tongue can tell and they have always broken with high winds. So I just typed in quality umbrellas and the first one to come up was the Tumella umbrella. I bought it on offer, however it is still great value for money at the full price. The grip and weight is first class and you know that you have a quality umbrella in your hand. Had the opportunity to use this about two days after it arrived. Kept me dry whilst waiting for a bus while it was quite blustery without any battle to keep it open. It's certainly a lot stronger than my previous umbrella which had to go in the bin when it became next to useless after being blown inside out one time too many. It's easy to open using the button on the handle. This also puts it down but you do have to push the canopy down quite firmly to collapse it down completely, so worth bearing in mind if you're not as strong as you used to be. Once collapsed it's not as compact as some umbrellas I've had but it's fine for keeping in the bottom of my backpack. It has an overall quality feel to it and I'm sure I'll be using it for years to come. It also comes with a lifetime guarantee which is reassuring. Lovely selection of colours and patterns. On the basis of my experience so far I'd be happy to recommend these umbrellas.

I am clearly at that age now where I only buy quality items and I cannot stand sending poor quality items to landfill any longer. I purchased this umbrella in a week of constant rain so it really got its use. It feels excellent quality, the button is easy to use in terms of getting the umbrella up quickly. It functions well, has kept me dry, and has even withstood some pretty strong winds and hasn’t folded or buckled in anyway. The metal frame seems more reinforced than most compact umbrellas. The fact that there is a lifetime guarantee for this product makes it excellent value for money. I appreciate the thoughtful design and letter from the founder. My only notes for people to consider are these: this is significantly heavier in weight than any other umbrella I’ve owned, so it might not be suitable for anyone older or frail or with accessibility issues. I also have difficulty getting it down as you have to push quite hard to reduce the length and get it to lock back into the handle. As it is stronger and fairly large, it is also not as compact as I am used to. For me, these are things I can compromise on for an umbrella that withstands the crazy storms we get here, but I thought I would mention it for anyone considering purchasing who may have strength issues.

This is a good brolly, sturdy & easy to carry around the open & close is great and it performs well in windy conditions had quite a bit of that lately so it’s been tested! I’m very happy with this purchase.

Having had it for several days now and thoroughly inspected same it seems like an exceptionally good and robust umbrella. I have absolutely no hesitation in giving it five stars at least! Being an experienced Degree Qualified Civil Engineer I note that the handle is a very nice firm rubber material which feels pleasant in the hand. Ideally from a good grip point of view the handle should be 25mm longer. However from purely an aesthetic point of view and wishing to restrict its length to 300mm overall (when folded); a 12mm length increase would be an excellent compromise. At present it may be the manufacturer wishes to market the product as being less than 300mm overall (when folded). Having said that stating it is exactly 300mm overall (when folded); does not really diminish its appeal. Having showed this product to many people over the last few days since purchase most of them took details and were certainly going to buy same from Amazon fairy soon. Mike.

The umbrella looks nice, feels well built, and easy to use. Have used in sunny, windy, and rainy conditions - does a good job. A tiny amount of water gets through the wind vents under extremely heavy rain, but this can be mitigated by holding the umbrella at a steady angle. So far it's a reasonable compromise considering how well it's holding up during heavy rain and wind.
