Salus RT510RF/TX 5/2-Day Wireless Programmable Thermostat Central Heating Control

We had the basic temperature thermostat, which died after 8 years or so. This one worked out better value in a pack with a new receiver. Took me 10mins to swap the receiver, and 15mins to program all the settings in the transmitter. Life is just too short to have phone apps and other such nonsense. This just works and works brilliantly

Was really pleased with this, so easy to install and really easy to use. Also you can put it anywhere in the house which is really handy. Would highly recommend 👌

Installation document was thin on the ground for this device, and I had to resort to the Internet to work out exactly how to swap a generic 2-wire thermostat with this one. Once I had that information it was easy to do a DIY install.Like all these types of devices, the user interface is still reminiscent of the eighties and you have to do a bit of thinking and trial and error to jab buttons in the right order to program fully. Once done though, it works wonderfully.Having ones of those new fangled environmentally friendly houses, means I dump heat out like crazy in the winter so I like to keep the heating on all night, but at the same time, I don't want to cook myself through the night. This has allowed me to have the best of both worlds. I put it in the coldest bedroom in the house and set the night-time temperature down to the minimum I want the house, this keeps the heating ticking over during the night.During the day time it jumps back to normal room temperature. With a seven day timer, I can also set days that I'm going to be at work to the minimum, heating up to a reasonable temperature for when I get home.This is a cost effective way of having automated heating controls. It works over local RF and I haven't had a problem with range (paper walls though). It doesn't connect to the Internet, you can't fiddle with it from your phone whilst at the beach. You set it up how you want it to run, and then you forget about it altogether.It features an override for frost protection, holiday mode (not really sure what this is), and you can advance the program or temporarily boost/drop the temperature on demand.The only real negative to it is the remote unit has a kick stand that doesn't support the device. You have to carefully place it for it not to immediately face-plant. And then any vibrations near the furniture it is on will send it falling forwards with a crash.The remote unit is battery operated, so doesn't need any cabling if you do choose to install it on a wall somewhere (fitting kit supplied). Batteries are likely to last a long time as it's only running a clock and a thermostat most of the time. When you interact with it, a backlight turns on. When it needs to change the boiler, it sends an RF signal just then, so no constant drain.It works on local RF, so no equipment is needed. I have no idea how vulnerable the base unit is to spoofing or interference from other units.

It's rare to find a product where they seem to have thought of everything, but this is such a thing.Installed 3 of these in a large building where the heating controls were previously all grouped together on timers with no thermostats at all (!). In order to avoid trying to add very long cable runs to wired thermostats (ruining decor or adding trunking) I found this Salus wireless device. The wireless range appears to be >>30m including through multiple brick walls, which is fantastic. The transmitter and receivers can be coded so they don't interfere with each other - essential for me. They have all the programming features you would expect, excellent "sleep" mode (including auto-wake from n-day holiday and frost-stat) and really clear, backlit (when button touched) display on transmitters.Don't mistake this for a "web access/phone access/wifi thermostat". Those are great, but require mains wiring to each transmitter as they are high power devices. These Salus RT510RF are low power, AA-battery powered devices (still on first battery set 1 year on) which can be freely moved around (come with stand) or be attached to wall.Very happy with installation - receivers indicate when in touch with transmitter and when heating demand active with pair of LEDs. Perfect product for my purposes.

I do not understand why people are crying here that have stuck-to-read assembly instructions and with the installation of this kit with its own boiler.Go to Sauls-controls.com website and download all pdfs and read them with understanding before you will install this kit with your boiler and program it!If you do not understand the simple installation instruction this kit is not for you and you may arrange the fitter 😂.After a few years, this kit is still working perfectly without any issues and saved a lot of money on gas usage!

Ability to have tailored switch on for heating has saved a lot of money with ever increasing gas costs

I have been using Salus programmable thermostats since 2003. They have been reliable. Sadly not so with this product. The original lasted almost exactly three months. Although it indicated that it was calling for heat no triggering signal was being sent to the boiler. Salus replaced it with another. An impressive level of support. The replacement failed in the same way within six days. The second one did not fail gracefully, either. It tripped a fast-blow protection fuse on the boiler, requiring a visit from a service engineer.Sadly I cannot recommend this product. A waste of money. It's the wired base units that failed in both cases. I can however recommend the Neomitis wireless programmable thermostat here on Amazon. Mine is working just fine. Long may it last!

Kein problem, easy to install

Syncing not working with receiver. Product not new. After using it I see the reset button has inkt on it. So it has been used before.

Mi problema era que en el cuarto estar donde estaba el termostato como tenemos una chimenea de leña el termostato superaba la temperatura Y el resto de la casa quedaba sin calentar.Con este termostato Salud mide la temperatura en cualquier habitación o en la cocina de manera que la calefacción sigue funcionando en el resto de la casa.Para instalar el aparato además de los dos hilos que vienen de la caldera hace falta poner corriente en la base inalámbrica que está en la pared.La programación es bastante sencilla, tiene una para los días laborables y si decides a qué hora se enciende la calefacción para el desayuno apagándose después y encendiéndose para la comida y más tarde para la cena. Podemos establecer temperaturas diferentesEn cada uno de esos momentos. Además tiene programación manual que si quieres un poco más de calor es muy práctica

Preso termostato wireless per separare il controllo della temperatura tra le 2 camere(avevo le valvole termostatiche separate sotto lo stesso termostato) . Per evitare di scavare nuove tracce ho optato per sistema wireless. Ho già avuto esperienza con altri sistemi del genere in passato questa volta ho voluto provare questa marca che costa meno della metà di altre soluzioni presenti sul mercato. Ha un sito internet ben fatto di riferimento. Pacco arrivato in una settimana, probabilmente spedito dal Regno Unito. Arriva una scatola molto compatta dove ci sono le istruzioni in inglese, il termostato, la gamba per poggiare il termostato sul piano, pile, tasselli e la ricevente. Nessuna istruzione in italiano (nemmeno on line) ma la brochure è completa di schemi cablaggi e modalità installatore se fosse necessario. Il termostato e la ricevente sono già associate e pronte a funzionare da subito. Plastiche di buona fattura e sia la unità che la ricevete sono installabili da muro mediante cornice interna. Buoni i morsetti della unità ricevente. Molto bello e facile da installare. Forse il display un po' semplice ma ci sono tutte le informazioni necessarie. Consigliata. La proverò a breve con un'altra uguale per vedere se si possono comandare più zone senza che le riceventi si disturbino

Nous en avons installé 6 différents sur 6 radiateurs dont 2 sur des disjoncteurs 20A malgré les recommandations à 16A max. Tout fonctionne parfaitement. Très simple à installer. La notice est courte et suffisamment claire (en anglais). Très simple à programmer. Assez intuitif en utilisation quotidienne.Le thermomètre est suffisamment précis et sensible sans faire des marche-arrêts à répétition.Les matériaux et la fabrication semblent assez robustes.Les deux modules sont assez volumineux mais nous sommes parvenus à intégrer le tout.Nous aimons particulièrement : le thermomètre sans fil positionné loin du radiateur, la possibilité de changer le programme pour quelques heures, le mode vacance qui relance le chauffage automatiquement avant notre retour, la simplicité des changements de températures de consigne.Très content de cet achat pour ce premier hiver.
