I’m not sure how much carbon is involved in the construction, other than the cosmetic weave, but it’s high quality and well finished. I wanted a tall slim gear knob with a gear selection logo, and the carbon finish fits the looks I’m going for. The gear knob comes with 3 threaded inserts, but they are only threaded where they screw into the knob itself, the inside is smooth hole. The act of screwing on the knob with insert actually cuts the internal thread, so it’s alot stiffer to fit on than a pre-threaded knob.

I bought this for my 06 mitsubishi shogun sport after the previous owner has fitted a purple metallic gear stick. The adaptor fitted great and the thread aligned the gears graphics bang on the first try. Not sure if it's really carbon fibre as it's very weighty, not that it matters to me as the visuals of it looks good regardless. As a fun, budget friendly upgrade, I don't see anything to talk down about it. Probably not ideal for anyone with massive hands, I'm an average size (5 11) guy and my hands are at the upper end of where you'd be wanting to use this.

With this item it looked really nice but upon receiving and installing it proceed to get stuck multiple times and then led to being stuck on and not being able to be removed 👎🏽

Thought I messed up the threads but you just gotta keep screwing and screwing until it’s at your preferred height. It will get tight almost instantly but you gotta keep going.
