AuroraProfessional Grade AU125MA 120-Sheet Auto Feed High-Security Micro-Cut Paper Shredder/60 Minutes/Security Level P-5

Our old Fellowes machine (425ci) that I took home after my office closed was a beast but was abused by office peeps and finally died after 5 years of home use.This Aurora AU125 MA machine is a serious piece of shredding equipment at a great price point, equal in power to the Fellows at a fraction the cost. The ability to load a huge stack of paper (up to 120 8.5x11 sheets) and have it automatically shred the lot is FANTASTIC. This is hands down my favorite feature. We've been processing lots of paperwork from an estate and this machine has made quick work of stacks and stacks of shredding.Favorite features:1) Automatically shreds stacks of papers so you don't have to baby sit it, inserting 10 sheets at a time, tho it handles manual insertion of media as well. I'm assuming this only works with stacks of uniformly sized papers.2) I love how the shredding (business part) of the shredder can be lifted up off the base if needed. This makes it easy to clean the shredding teeth on occasion, and clean out the base. The drawer slides out from the front as you'd expect, when you need to empty.3) It's extremely quiet! it's probably the most quiet shredder I've ever used. And it cross shreds to P5 size pieces.4) The casters make it easy to wheel out from under desk when you want to do serious amounts of shredding. It's a pretty heavy machine, so being able to glide it on casters is key.5) Holds a huge amount of shredded material.The only thing I can think to improve would be to have handles on the short sides to make it easier to pull out from under desk. There is a large groove that runs around 3 sides where the shredder part rests on the base. It's possible to grab the shredder by the groove/lip to pull out from under desk but dedicated handles would be nice.

Ok I just received it, but have had other shredders in the past. Of course it may break and if it does soon I'll update my review. But loading it with a stack of papers and letting it do its thing is amazing. And it's quiet for a shredder.And you don't have to remove the top (shredder part) to pull the draw out to empty it. Not sure why people said that maybe it was a different model.

An AMAZING shredder ... I cannot tell you how many 'heavy duty' shredders we have gone through in our office ... but this one is by far the best ... fast, efficient and clean ... just wish I could find shredder bin bags so that we did not have to pull the bin and try to get all the shred into a garbage bag.

The collecting bin is all plastic and somewhat flimsy. It’s very functional and the head unit mates snugly against its crevices.The head unit is VERY heavy. Coming from someone who uses your cheap $30 paper shredder unit, the head assembly is over 30lbs and that makes sense.Right away, it’s easy to assemble and operate. It’s very quiet compared to your cheap department store models. I have not test its longevity or its endurance.I’ll update later on but as of now, I’m quite happy with the purchase.

Received the unit today and unpackaged it. Right away I noticed that most of the Styrofoam packaging was broken in the box. I am wondering if it was opened in transit because there were multiple types of tape on the box and it was barely holding the box together. Also, there wasn't a manual in the box. Just the shredder and broken Styrofoam. I am not sure if it was supposed to come with a manual, but I was able to find one online. Also, I am not sure if it was supposed to come with a bag or oil which may not have been put back in the box if it was opened in transit.The shredder is a good shredder and cuts well. I used both the manual feed and internal auto feed option, which is why I bought this shredder. It worked well using both options. It says that it can handle up to 20 stapled sheet in the auto mode and I did not have any issues with it handling that or in the manual mode.One thing I will say is it fills up quickly. Make sure to have plenty of bags if you plan on doing any major shredding.I have run about 2000 sheets through it and it is doing its job. Overall I am happy with the unit.

PROS: Very easy to use. Large capacity. Shreds into very small particles.CONS: The latch was defective so it would only run when we held the door closed. The "LOCK" was one of the features that made us select this model. However, the lock disengages 1) if you unplug it and plug it back in; 2) if it jams. 3) if it goes into sleep mode. Not much of a lock.INFURIATING: We contacted Amazon about the defective lock. They told us to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer told us to contact Amazon. Bottom line, it stopped working on day 1. We wanted to swap it for the same shredder but one that worked. Both Amazon and the manufacturer said we had to return it and then purchase another one. The price of an exact replacement was over $100 more than what we had originally paid. Neither Amazon nor the manufacturer would make it right. We did not order another, but decided to purchase a shredder from a company that would stand by what they sell.

Has tremendous capacity and easily handles those big junk mail pieces that are hard to tear up. Chops it all into tiny bits so you don't need to worry about security.

Purchased to use in my home office. It is sturdy & fast. Use it pretty much daily. Would purchase again.
