Great burrow bed overall, weird material on bottom.
I love these burrow beds, and so does my 13 yr old miniature dachshund. He is getting older and with two new babies in the house he is starting to go a little more cookoo than usual and he needs a nice place to scurry away and hide.I’ve been buying him burrow beds for a long time now but haven’t in a while. Over the years he’s like his cage more and more and the burrow beds take up the entire thing. But lately he’s been just sitting on a blanket he pulls out of his cage by the foot of the bed, so I thought it was time to get him something more snuggly. Christmastime came around and I ordered this.Bc it’s a Christmas gift he hasn’t opened it yet ;). But my first impressions as the person in charge of his comfort, is that this will be exactly what he wants. I attached pictures For you to follow along. The Sherpa looking lining is very soft and white. He is going to love that. IIIII would love that. The size is great for him. He fluctuates in weight but is generally about 13 lbs. Depending on his fur situation he can either look a little chunky and disheveled, or trim and puppy-like. Not counting tail He is about 18” long from nose to butt. This bed is the perfect size for him curled up, or on his side. There is a zipper to remove the hood if you or they don’t want the burrow feature. Felt sturdy.Appears to be easily washable which is good bc his breathe is rank and he is an anxious licker. Blankets and beds get gross quickly. The one wierd thing about this bed is the bottom. It is not even remote grippy, and almost seems purposely made to be as slippery and loud and scratchy as possible. The material at the bottom is extremely cheap feeling. Super crinkly and weird. It’s a good thing this will be on carpet most of the time bc I don’t really understand the material choice there. It is very obviously a flaw. The rest of the bed is great, and since these are hard to find generally, I am happy w the purchase and can’t wait for him to pull on the wrapping paper and immediately drag the bed upstairs and snuggle. With new babies in the house it has been stressful for him and I hope he sees it as a sign of affection and love. <3

Our dachshund loves it.
If you have a dachshund you know they like to be covered. Ours crawled right in and went to sleep the day we got it.

Be patient, it will work
I wanted a dog cave at the foot of our bed and this is working well for that purpose. At first the dogs did not like it and I gave up coaxing figuring that I could at least remove the cover and use it as a dog bed. Once they got used to it as a dog bed at various places around the house I put it back on the bed. At first I kept as small blanket over it, then added the top and kept the blanket over it. Its working fine and they do use it.At first the outer material was crinkly-sounding and the hoop was too stiff although the bed cushion was really soft. Either the dogs sitting on the cover or the weight of the blanket has made the hoop flatter over time. So it now works more like the dog cave I'd been envisioning. It does run small though, my pug does not fit inside but my chihuahua finds it to be a perfect fit.

Dog flips this over when getting in
The media could not be loaded. I have two dogs one is 21 pounds and one is 25. They do not fit in these comfortably. The bed is very thin material and the beds completely flip over when my dog tried to crawl in them by themselves. I have to help them get in or the bed flips. . Inside is just super thin see through material with some brown cotton like stuff in it, not packed tightly at all. My dogs only got in and out of this thing and try to fluff it a few times and the sherpa is already coming unravel and pulling out. Well be returning not quality material. All 3 different types of material in this product are very thin. You can see your hand through each one if you put it on the opposite side. Bottom material is like a crunchy plastic, smooth and does not prevent slipping as is looks like it should. The bed still slides across the floor.

Terrible!
I bought this bed for my tiny, elderly chihuahua who loves to burrow. This bed is similar to an expensive one I bought years ago and I thought I would save money purchasing this bed.If you plan on washing the case, think again!I was puzzled to find about a thousand tiny black seed like objects clinging to my washable pee pee pads, the case and two scatter rugs. The so called grips totally fell off the bottom and left the washer filled with tiny black debris! An awful mess and a testament to the fact that low price is not a deal!Don’t waste your money!

the texture
I originally bought a red one back in 2016 for my 8lb. chihuahua . He absolutely loved it. I've washed it a lot. I also noticed the bottom stuffing was getting flat. But it was over 2 years old already, so i figured time for another one. I wanted the same one because he loves it. The only difference is I changed the color from red to grey. When I received the new one, I put it on the floor for my dog. He wouldn't go in it . It seems the grey one isn't as soft as the red one. Its feels more like a plastic material. It also has a plastic pole in the hood. Red one did not. I dont know if its the feel or the texture ,but he doesn't like it. I dont know if washing it would soften it up? So the red color gets a 5 star but the grey one , not so good

My"picky" Dog likes it
My dog is very picky when it comes to his items like chew toys or bedding. Barring this fault he is very lovable. I have tried other bedding but if it wasn't up to stuff he would refuse to sleep in it. I have had to throw a blanket over this dog while he slept on the bare wood floor with the bed next to him. When I received this dog bed my dog looked it over sniffed it and went inside and slept the whole night away. He has never done that with anything other type of bedding. He loves his bed so much I have to to take him out of the bed so he can do his business before I leave for work. When he comes back in he goes straight for the bed.
