Very High Quality Water Hip Pack
I was so impressed with this pack when I got it because it is way better than what I was expecting! This Rimrock hip/fanny pack cannot only store your water, but also store a ton of other stuff as well! It has 5 extra storage pockets besides the water bladder section. The craftsmanship is incredible and no corners were cut in the making of it. The zippers are thick, well made, and double stitched. The reservoir is insulated and can keep your water cold longer than other non-insulated reservoirs. The bladder has a wide opening with a secure lock type of seal, and you are also able to put ice in with your water to keep it cold. It can hold almost two liters of water, and if you need more water it has ample room for extra bottled waters in the additional storage pockets. The drinking nozzle/bit is also extremely well-made and has a magnetic attachment that connects it to the pack so that it's not flopping around as you are hiking. The tubing is also insulated so that the water does not get hot when it is not being used. This hip pack also has 5 molle attachments that I have found so far on it, which lets you hang things from the pack as well as store things in the pack. The buckle and the belt are very high end, thick, and adjustable. Plus they put a type of gel pack to act as a cushion against you for added comfort. The overall build quality is absolutely superb. The only potential negative that I could see would be how big and bulky this pack can get with the water bladder filled along with the extras that you could possible put in it. I actually like all the extra space that you are able to utilize in this pack. I can not over emphasize all the extra room that you have with this pack from storing things in it to hanging things from it. This is such a game changer because you can eliminate also having to wear a backpack on a those shorter adventures with this hip pack. I normally use CamelBak backpacks because of the quality, but this hydration pack from RimRock far exceeds any other brand that I have used thus far. This hip pack takes you to the next level of adventure! I love this even more than what I thought I was going to when I ordered it! I highly recommend it.

So so
My Dakine waist type hydration system disappeared after my luggage went through TSA, do i thought this brand might be a cheaper, lighter alternative. Nope. The bladder for the fluid is very bulky i guess because of the thick material that is supposed to keep the fluid cool. The hydration bladder design for opening and closing it isnt great and i dont think it will last. A slide type closure would have been better. It is also hard to get it into and out of the fabric case it comes in, and seems like it carries less fluid than the more flexible bladders i have from other brands. Im keeping it as a backup but have gone back to my dakine 5L/1.5L fluid hydration system

Great for hiking
One of the better hydration packs I've tried. This one sits on the hips which is so much more comfortable and convenient to me than having to carry it on your back along with your backpack. Solid construction using great materials.

Yes it’s actually 5 star worthy
I live in the PNW and spent a good amount of time in the military. I like finding non mainstream gear that is affordable and different from what’s in the stores. This review may be get long so I will give a quick overview then go into a break down. This pack is perfectly built for out and back trips done by people who are very confident on the trail. This includes experienced trail runners, and people who know how to bring only what they need on a trip. It is constructed out of quality material, but I would still, not want to snag it or be throwing it on the ground all the time. It has a nice lumbar support area and sits on the back correctly. It has enough storage for the essentials you would need for this type of outing. Space blanket, couple, protein bars, Something start a fire with, cell phone, and a few other small items. The only, downside might be for women or people who have smaller frames. I am over 6 foot tall, 230 pounds, and I have a 36 inch waist. You may feel like this pack is coming around your side too much and you may need to either wrap a towel or get used to that feeling. Longer review, I will start with the straps and kind of work my way back. The straps are really well thought out. They use a more modern double loop meaning that it goes towards the belly button and then loops back over on the same tension strap. This essentially gives you double the strap which aids with comfort tremendously. To tighten and loosen they use a more modern pole strap towards the obliques. To loosen you stick your thumb underneath the clasp and push it away from your body and to tighten you pull the strap towards your centerline. The oblique pouches get larger as they go back, which is in line with how your body is shaped. The strap also goes in behind the oblique pouch to its anchor point. This helps a lot with rubbing as well as keeping the tension off your sides and more towards your lumbar hip area. The lumbar support is enough to feel comfortable without feeling like it’s trying to do too much. It’s small enough to wear people of different body sizes. Can still wear it while being large enough to feel like it’s offering you some structural support. The pockets are very well thawed out on shape and symmetry. The pockets mirror each other as well as the main pocket being long without being too wide. Meaning that it fits perfectly in the small of your back like it’s supposed to. Inside the main compartment where the water bladder is. There is also an additional storage area. I would keep the items that lay flat in this area as well as items that I don’t want to break, considering there is water on the outward facing side to add additional impact resistance. One of the biggest pros to this piece of equipment is that you can run the smaller water bladder and have additional storage. Not everyone is going to need 1.8 L and even though I drink a lot of water I would still run the 1 L one with an additional Shirt or long sleeve/towel in that compartment as well. One of the other awesome things this does very well is having the ability to anchor the straw to the strap without worrying about it flopping around. I have less than 10 five star reviews in over 200 vine reviews.
