Great gift
Bought this as a gift for my 18 year old son and he loved it. The bracelet seems very well made and is easy to put on and take off. The color is great for the outdoorsman and it has a nice fit. He really liked all the different features the bracelet has to offer. He loves exploring the outdoors so this was an excellent addition for him.

Pretty solid bracelet
Pretty solid bracelet! The knife/striker is great for when you need a quick way to open a package or cut something that doesn't require anything super sharp. Bracelet fit tight at first but after a week or so it now fits perfect.*UPDATE*So far so good, here's a few things I've learned that will hopefully help others:- I was able to get through airport security twice with this bracelet. I recommend when you take it off to put it through the scanner to reattach the buckle so that the little fire scraper isn't sticking out, it's small but better to not have somet sharpish looking poking out.- The knife/scraper can pop out of it's holster (which is intended I should think). Easier to handle out of the holster.- I was upset because the compass was on the fritz and that was a big reason for my purchase. I used a neodymium magnet to re-magnetize and it seemed to be great until I clamped it back on my wrist. That's when I realized the knife/scraper appears to cause interference since when buckled the scraper sits millimeters away. You can remove the scraper and rotate around the compass and it will make it jump around. Maybe I accidentally magnetized the scraper? Not sure but not a huge deal because I can just unbuckle the bracelet and hold the compass away from the opposite end and it points north! I don't know if you can demagnetize something but if so that may fix it. Hope that helps!

Pretty Much As Expected
I decided to buy this product after going on a hike where my backpack fell apart rather spectacularly. Luckily, I had some paracord handy in the bag and managed to adequately repair the damage and continue on my merry way. I wanted paracord conveniently wrapped up in a bracelet, and that's what I got. The whistle works, and so does the fire starter. The compass, as others have stated, does not work very well. Mine eventually works if you keep it away from the striker and gently rock it back and forth as it slowly, incrementally turns to face North. Unfortunately, that isn't super reliable, and I can only trust its findings because I know where North is from my bedroom, and because I have another compass handy to check its work. The idea of using this product, at least for me, was to always have some basic survival necessities on hand regardless of what I'm planning to do today. This product does not 100% fit the bill. But for the price point, it still checks enough boxes for me to give a positive review.

Perfect 550 Cord Bracelet
I’m not Bear Gryllis, but for what it’s worth I’m an Army NCO (Armor), an Eagle Scout, a Scout Leader, and a sportsman who has been practicing, learning, and teaching outdoor skills for more than 20 years.First things first: make sure you order the right size. I didn’t measure before I ordered, and got ones that were too large for me. I’m 6’0” 198lbs but my tiny little wrists needed a medium, not a large (apparently). This meant I had to unravel it and re-braid it shorter, which resulted in it being not quite as tightly braided as when I received it. My fault though. The features are great. The compass WORKS but like all compasses it needs to be level and can’t be near the fire scraper or any other steel. This means you have to unbuckle the bracelet to use it. The people saying it doesn’t work while trying to use it closed remind me of a lieutenant in my old company who tried to tell the platoon sergeant we were going the wrong way based on his analog compass. LT was in a tank at the time. A tank made out of 70+ tons of steel. The whistle is perfectly adequate, very loud given its compact size. The ferro rod (fire starter) is of the most dubious value; there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just much harder to start a fire with a ferro rod than people realize. PRACTICE is needed, if you haven’t done it a thousand times for practice with all kinds of tinder, don’t expect to be able to do it in an emergency without dryer lint or cotton balls. My only concern is durability - the buckle is plastic, which could potentially shatter on impact against a canoe, tree, vehicle, etc.Overall I highly recommend. I kept one for myself and resized the other for my son, who is in cub scouts.

All as advertised, but a couple caveats (updated)
(UPDATE: A year later, I have to update and take a star off. For whatever reason, be it poor quality materials, or the compass staying too near the magnetized spark striker, a year later the compass no longer works. At all. Even when it's not near the striker (see below what that's about). Firestarter still works fine, still has a working whistle, and the cord is still cord :) But the compass is kind of why I got it, and now it's no good. Maybe should take 2 stars off, but I guess you get what you pay for.)I have an exactly 8" wrist and got the Medium bracelet. The first few times putting it on, it's just tight enough to pinch the skin when it clasps, but it's starting to loosen up. I think the large would be too large for me.As others have said, so I was prepared for it, the compass does not work when it's clasped closed. The metal striker somehow interferes. I think this will be the case on ALL the emergency bracelets with compasses and firestarter's though, so it's not unique to this product. Rubbing the flint and steel magnetizes the striker. So to use the compass, you either have to take it off and hold the bracelet, or, remove the metal striker and re-attach onto your wrist. As for the firestarter, there is a coating on the flint rod that has to be scrapped away before any sparks will generate, so don't try it just a few times and think it doesn't work. After scraping off the coating until I got sparks, I then only had to strike it "for real" twice to be able to ignite a puff of dryer lint! So, works perfectly great! All in all, this is the best set of paracord "survival" bracelets for the cost!

Very bulky…
The compass seems relatively accurate. (Boy Scout… I know compass’s) The Paracord looks like it may start unbraiding easily. The clip is good, and I didn’t try the flint or blade/striker. It’s not something you would wear daily, but as a safety hiking thing. It would be okay to have it handy on your wrist. It’s huge on my wrist, and I’m not a small guy, and I bought the medium. It doesn’t look cool, it looks like a necessity. I initially bought these to add to Safety travel bag (2 actually), but decided to buy 100 feet of Paracord, and stand alone compass’s, and stand alone flints. I have two of these, that will probably be gifted , as I don’t have the packing, I can’t return.

Bracelet
When I searched for these bracelets they were for my 6 year old grandsons for Easter. They arrived on time but they are way too big. They fit adults.
