Q: Can this be used on a fiber glass boat?

Yes it works great! I have used this for the last 3 years. Put a section every area I have my bumpers so I no longer get dock rash. I moorage my boat all summer, makes gel coat maintenance a breeze.

Q: Can this 3m film be used to protect headlights?

Have had 3M clear film over headlights of my car for over a year. I've buffed & polished DOZENS of headlights on All types of cars, and THEY ALWAYS turn yellow again in a few months...UNTIL you apply a UV protective barrier, such as THIS FILM, or an Automotive grade 2k clear coat. A good wax or paint sealant will stave off plastic oxidation only a little bit. Using a film like this ( properly applied) WILL protect your headlights from all the elements. I REALLY don't think the HEAT from the light itself gets any hotter than a black paint job on a sunny day. It won't effect the structure of the film, unless you have some weirdly hot light bulb you probably shouldn't be using.

Q: What is the thickness?

I believe there were several different "mil" thicknesses available from this supplier. I don't remember the thickness I purchased off the top of my head. I use it on my snowmobiles and rode over 3,000 miles this winter with no issues.
