Thank you!
Mr. Low,In the late 90's I was still running my BBS the Board of Oblivion out of Kokomo Indiana, my dad had introduced me to the Kabbalah and I was starving for more data, somehow I made contact with someone in the UK who I do not remember the name right now, who made a floppy disk and sent it to me with a file about the Kabbalah, I printed it out and dove in. I have been studying ever sense working with meditations and creative visualization within the structure of the Kabbalah for a few decades now. It all really took off for me thanks to that document that was signed Colin Low at the bottom of the page.....Thank you so much!!!!Dave

First class authoritative work
An incredibly well researched and thoughtfully presented work. I am sure this book will quite rightly be regarded as a authoritative text on the subject. It has taken prime position on my burgeoning book shelves!

Very highly recommended
There are thousands of books available on kabbalah but as far as I’m aware this book is unique. It attempts to place hermetic kabbalah in an historical and philosophical context that will make sense to Jewish kabbalists, academics, ‘occult’ practitioners, and even casual readers who just want to know more about the subject. The first section provides a lucid overview of the major themes and foundational ideas in hermetic kabbalah. The second section looks in detail at each of the Sephirot and paths on the Tree of Life and is full of useful insights. The lasts section ‘rectification of the soul’ attempts to say something useful about the real purpose and continuing significance of kabbalah. To do so it directly addresses the challenges that contemporary practitioners face in a secular society in which traditional world views have been replaced by a modern scientific outlook.‘The Hermetic Kabbalah’ is a great book which has been written by someone with many years of practical experience and historical insight.

View from the mountaintops
If I may comment as a critical friend, this book climbs an important mountain but not quite that of the title. There is a strong fascination shown with the Kosher side of Kabbalah. It is written from a Hermetic perspective however. That is quite challenge, because one view is unmistakably monotheistic, the other not so. The Hermetic writings throughout history have been philosophical (metaphysical) and detached from general religious practice. Hence they appeal to a bookish segment of those who describe themselves as "spiritual not religious", or followers of "holistic spirituality". A great deal of this is cleared up by Brian Lancaster in The Essence of Kabbalah, which I suggest is read first. Then all will fall into its rightful place. You will benefit from both titles if you are a serious investigator, followed by lots of practice. Mr Low has a scientist's love of logic and the practical testing of theories; you have to do that testing for yourself, so this is a manual or travel guide and you are the machinery that needs to be operated. Then and only then will you know what he is describing.
