Compost in your apartment.
I use one of these about every 6 to 9 months depending on how much I compost. I dont know about thickness. It works and is better than making my own. It allows me to keep compost in the house and prevents rotting. It smells like sour milk when you take off the lid. That's better than rotten garbage. I fill up bottles with the fluid that accumulates and use this, diluted a lot, as fertilizer.

Easiest Urban Composting Ever!
I love the Bokashi Brothers mix and have ordered it three times. I live in an urban area without grass but am committed to food composting because of the environment. I tried another brand when first starting out, but then ordered this by chance online. It is a light and odor free mix and breaks down my food waste in buckets that I rotate which I then donate to others who have food gardens. They have said their plants and the worms LOVE the mixture! I'm about to order the largest bag of Bokashi from this company! Thanks to them for enabling me to do my part!

So good and so easy to use
So initially I made the bran for my Bokashi composter. The recipe came with the composter and there’s a supply store near me, so I figured, why buy it if I can make it? Ummmm….buying this is so much easier, lol! I’m as crunchy as the next person, and I’m trying to do all I can to help the planet, but I DO have limited energy and time, so I decided to give buying this a try instead. This is the way to go. It’s easy to use, smells nice and earthy, and it will have your Bokashi composter churning out that juice in record time. So good and such a great value since the return on investment is that awesome JUICE! I’m big on returning to the earth what the earth gave to me, so I love my Bokashi! This stuff is so good. Highly recommend.

No compost smell
I love this. It helps immensely with the countertop kitchen compost bucket. Bonus use: it really does work sprinkled into cat litter 1/3 c. And I use silica, not clay. I'm excited to see how it works after I get another litter robot and go back to clumping litter. The whole house smells better.

TRYING TO ASSESS THIS PRODUCT, BUT I THINK I LIKE IT
I ordered this because it was spring (last year), there were still "undigested" chunks of stuff in my huge compost bin, and I wanted to hurry things up! But the instructions were talking about "treating" every little bit of, say, kitchen waste in a pattern and timeframe that didn't seem to speak to my needs very well. Like, I was hoping it would say, "sprinkle this on your compost and it'll break down faster!" But it didn't. I did mix it into my compost, but not sure how much it changed things. It also said you can use it to freshen cat litter boxes and I used it for that a few times; pretty good! BOTTOM LINE, I don't have the slightest idea how well this stuff works, but it seems to be a quality product so I'm giving it 5 stars. I just used some more of it this week on my compost pile; gonna try to assess things better this year. Cheers!

USE IT IN THE LITTERBOX!! It's amazing!
Just today a plumber asked how many cats we have and when I told him, he was very surprised as our house does not smell like we have even one cat, much less 6! It's also much healthier for my cats. Dirty stinky litterboxes are not just dirty and stinky, they're unhealthy for your cat, too. Bokashi is made of good bacteria. The microorganisms in Bokashi are commonly called "effective microorganisms" because they are so very beneficial for so many living things - people, animals, plants, water...it's quite a large list of positives.I use this stuff in my litter boxes and a little in the small trash bag when I scoop out the 'used' clumps. We have 6 cats and doing this keeps my house from smelling like used kitty litter - especially from the stinky trash can. In case you're wondering, those 'effective microorganisms' I mentioned, destroy the 'bad' bacteria that causes odors and unhealthy germs. And it keeps the house from smelling like a used litterbox. I use about 1/4 cup mixed in the litter once a week (I use a combo of 3 different all natural litter with no perfumes.)

Works Fast
I wanted to start my own Bokashi compost and culture, this brand is very competitively priced and is faster than starting my own batch from scratch. I've got my own double bucket set up now and it smells like sourdough instead of rotting garbage which is nice. I now have a more efficient way of processing all my food scraps and even weeds. Saves a lot of money in the long run on soil, fertilizer, and time.
